Trooper is growing by leaps and bounds... too smart for his own good. Has a keen eye and shows real talent on stock. We had a go at a few sheep at a neighbors place and he really handled it well. We hope to get out to the clinics in the future to see how he does. He is really funny when we are feeding the homing pigeons; he eases into the coupe and rounds them up. Really funny to watch since they don’t stay on the ground. But he does a great job getting them from the open pen into the feeding pen.
He is longer and leggier than Jill and at 9 mos. Jack and he are shoulder to shoulder. He was really uncoordinated earlier on but he appears to have grown out of that. He use to trip just running around the yard. Now he bounds past even Jill who has out run everything she has been after.
He also has a very protective nature and I am most glad of that. Being alone on the farm a lot, it is nice to know that he would take a stand if I needed it. Our local police department K-9 unit is interested in the Koolie breed as K-9 officers. We are talking with them about the future potential.
He loves the water and ridding in the truck or on the boat. Swims like a shark and has no fear. He will jump off of the boat and dive underwater with out hesitation. It is so great to see his development. The best of both Jack and Jill. Wish he had spots but even with out them he is awesome.
I will try to do better keeping everyone posted on things…..I am hoping to plan another trip over to Australia next year
