Hi All
I have just finished a new compound for our dogs. It is a fenced in area 21 metres x 20 metres with a peppercorn tree and a redgum in it. The shed is 5 metres x 3 metres and I have lined the floor with tan bark & redgum chips. It is shadded by the peppercorn. There is an automatic water dispecer in the shed and another ourside the shed. There is also a smaller shed 2.5 metres x 1.5 metres should any dog need to be separated. The whole area is fenced with the wire dug into the ground.
At this stage I have a separate kennel inside the compound for Dottie. It is my intention to keep MoJo and the pup inside the house at night untill they settle then relocate them to the shed in the compound.
If anyone had any ideas of how I can improve this setup I would be more than pleased to hear from you.
We need to have a safe compound as we have a trigger happy neibour who has already shot a number of dogs in the area, including two of mine for no other reason than they were there. (b@#*&^%ard)
Kind Regards

Sounds great!
The only thing I can suggest (if needed) is that I & many others add to the security & create 'fence respect' form the dogs (not wee puppies) is to run an electrified tape around the base & at the top if needed, I just use a small low zap unit just for piece of mind that they have some respect of the fences & aren't when bored looking for ways out.
I prefer my dogs to get 1-2 zaps from the fence & know it's there opposed to getting out & getting shot or doing things they shouldn't.

We use the electric fence top and bottom to keep the dingos out as well.

yes mine swim up & down the creek like fish, our creek hasn't much water so they stretch the back feet out & sway to the current....ROFL

Hi
Got up early today (after a party last night ughhh

) and have hot wired the compound. We will be heading to Melbourne shortly to pick up MoJo and the pup & bring them home tomorrow. Thanks for all your input. It all helps.

Hi All
The compound, now known as Stalag 13 is working a treat. The dogs walk in and out when I am home and they stay in there with the gate closed when I am not or at night. They head there quite happily each night for dinner & bed.
