Having been on this forum for only a little while now I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the great welcomes I have received and all the help and assistance I have received on this forum. I have had a look at other Koolie Forums and have not even bothered to post a single thing as they just seem to be so worried about being mean to everyone and are not not worried about the best intentions of the Koolie breed. So I would just like to say thank you for your kindness to me and my family and more importantly being accepting of our Koolie X's. Although we have x's and we HAVE breed from them we have learnt from our mistakes and thank you for not shooting us down in flames!!!! Thank you everyone!!! This really is one of the friendliest place on the net I think!!!!!

Hi there from another newbie <grn> they sure seem to be a friendly bunch, everyone is happy to answer questions which is great. :-) I don't even have a half Koolie yet! My dogs are Welsh Springers, and a bit different from koolie's - yeah, just a bit - I'm looking forward to getting my first Koolie, and then I will probably have a million more questions which never even occurred to me yet!

The folk on here have convinced me by their answers that they are what I want, ... now I just have to find the one for me :-)

I told a friend of mine I was after a Koolie, and she said "why don't you just get a merle border collie?" She loves her borders, and I didn't want to put them down in any way, so I just said "'cos they're different" how dumb does that sound!

Penny Nalder and the Welsh Springers,
Ashley, Sherry and Quinn.

Pup.gif To the newbies, on behalf of the oldies....THANK YOU! It is just wonderful to sit back and see you all chatting away and enjoying yourselves and the friendships we are all forging. At times it has been a long hard haul for us but we knew if we perservered enough of the truly koolie folk would finally get together and we would all just enjoy each others company and learn from each other. That was the intention all along, just some people just can't stand either not being the centre of attention or seeing others excel and enjoying themselves. Just keep on going and setting a great example and Admin and the moderators will be very satisfied! beer.gif group.gif signthankspin.gif

I know what you mean about the attitudes of some folk. My husband and I used to own Dobes and Schnauzers, showed and trialled both. Then we got Bear (not even a Koolie) he was a Pit BullxGreyhound. Someone brought him into the petshop that we used to own and we all fell in love. He was different had a crooked nose, was Black & Tan and the sweetest nature that you could want in a dog. Then I found my first Koolie to own and cherish, Lissa was taken to the big smoke to live and just didn't fit into the family that had her. So she was my rescue. Obedience and Agility trained her and gave her things to do. Bear was really good at Obedience and Agility, but friends that we had know for years suddenly became quite snobbish because we no longer had pure bred dogs. Anyway we love our Koolies and they are the best breed of dog one could ever ask for. They are loyal and loving, fun to be with, fun to train and so full of life, most get on with other dogs (Lissa could be a real B around other dogs sometimes)and the owners are really friendly.

Must agree with you all, after reading some of the trash on the other forums

This is a nice place to hangout Diello.gif

Yes sadly some just can't be nice unless you follow their opinions, thats why it is so great this forum does exist & no bad manners are tolerated.

Well just been sitting back reading all these nice comments and thinking how lucky we are to have such a nice group, it sure does make for a nice meeting place and a really good exchange of information and each others experiences which is what forums are all about.

To penny, don't worry about not owning a koolie or even half a koolie, i have 6 Tibetan Spaniels ... lol, they don't even go close to resembling a koolie, but its the nice people and heaps of info that attract me here, and if i ever do get a koolie, i will already have a wealth of knowledge from the nice folk here that love to pass it on and share their every day experiences with their koolies.

As another newbie, I totally agree. This is a place where Koolies really are celebrated, rather than criticised because they're not from X breeder etc. And everyone makes you feel really welcome. signthankspin.gif

I'll add my own thanks, appreciation and gratitude to yours, that there is a place like this forum and that I can go off on my little tangents and you will all tolerate me.
Thanks Rachellebuck for giving us this oportunity to collect the good feelings and see so many like minded people who share the good talk and the love of a good dog no matter what its parentage. beer.gif group.gif win.gif signthankspin.gif
