This Topic is for recording past, present and possible future health issues that may or may not impact on the Koolie breed.

As breeders and people who are committed to the Koolie breed, we need to discover if there are other health problems other than the blind/deafness caused by the merle gene.

By recording all incidences of death or ill health we will be able to monitor the Koolie breed or uncover any patterns that may appear over time, possibly work together to correct or better avoid the problem as we are doing with the breeding programs to control the merle gene affects.

What we can't afford to do is hide health problems if they occur; so many breeds have suffered from secrets.

No one is here to judge or be judged.

Please post if your Koolie have had or may be suffering from anything, even if you have questions, we may also be able to involve a few Vets and Institutions that could give their valuable opinions and advice.
