Hi

I have just heard about a dog described as Koolie x Koolie/Kelpie (ie 75% Koolie)in the pound in Horsham. She was given up as the owner lives on a small block in town and they cannot look after her. She is 7 months old and apparantly has red and blue merle coloring. The have not been able to rehouse her as yet and the local pound dose not keep them long.

I cannot stand by and see her put down because sombody changed their mind.

Dose anyone think that there would be a positive or negative reaction from Dottie & Monte if we took her?

Input would be greatly appriciated

regards

Hi Lockie

Perhaps they might let you introduce them first to see how they get on before you commit.

I agree, a slow intro is best. I have just intro'ed a new Koolie to my two. My youngest, Libby, has dog to dog fear agression and I was really worried about her. I took them to a nutural territory (the local park) and intro'ed them there. Worked a treat and now we are a happy bunch. I have found that the new koolie (who is really friendly) has been good for her by showing her that other dogs are not out to get her. I think with a slow intro you should be right, also this dog is only 7 mths old so still young enough to learn the ropes at you house.
Good luck, let us know what happens!!!

The slow intro is the best and safest way to go Lockie, but after seeing Dot here with my mass I really don't think you will have an issue, keep us posted and if you need help let us know.
