Hi All,

I'm Michael, new here and to the club. I just wanted to thank all of the members at the KCA Christmas break up in Neilborough yesterday for making my Koolie 'Precious', my son, Jack, and myself welcome. We all had a fantastic time and we're looking forward to being involved in more club activities in 2008. Jack and Precious slept for most of the 3 hour drive home.

Cheers from the Dandenong Ranges,

Michael dogwalk.gif

Now Michael is traveling six hours to offer another Koolie rescue a permanent loveing home bravo.gif aussie.gif

Provided Precious agrees, but we know little Ziggy, debil.gif last of the nine koolie pups rescued from near Bathhurst will just melt her heart, puppy.gif and if not then he is most welcomed to come home to us. cool.gif

Thanks everyone, I'm looking forward to becoming an active member of the Koolie community. When I first got Precious there was hardly any information on the internet. I searched for hours and only found a couple of sites. One of them was most likely Tjukurpa, as I note that site has been going since 1998.

Kerrie and Ron, the car is packed and we're ready to go. We're all very excited about meeting Ziggy. He looks like a beautiful boy and we'll love him and take good care of him. He'll be off to dog obedience classes in the very near future.

We're all heading off at around 5.00 a.m. to try and avoid some of the heat. In addition to Precious and Jack you'll meet my wife, Lynette, and our youngest boy, Liam (age 2 and a half).

I'm pretty confident the dogs will get along. As you saw on Sunday, Precious is pretty level headed and friendly and gets along well with other dogs. She likes nothing better than to have friends to hang out with. d.gif d.gif

Cheers,

Michael dogwalk.gif dogwalk.gif

Hey Michael hope you made it home today, so sorry for the long wait mate you're a peach.

Michael and family in tow arrived all excited to pick up Ziggy this morning at 9am only to discover we could not be reached, oh the drama.

While the hours dragged by, where was I,?

Stuck in Echuca for the umpteenth time waiting for my car to be release from the mechanic.

I tried calling Michaels mobile but got no response, learned later that he wasn't getting a signal.

Final at 12:30 I got the car, rushed home to four messages all from Michael and with each one I expected the "look we have to go home now, sorry you weren't here, call us" but it never came they all just waited, visited Echuca had a look around our fair town, got some lunch and kept on calling, with nothing but patience to keep them waiting.

I grabbed a very dirty Ziggy, (we had rain today and he made mud) whisked him into Rochester after a hasty call to Michael and then practically dropped Ziggy in the families lap, thanked them, threw Michaels generous donation of a wonderful 20 kilo bag of Bonny pallets and biscuits and then had to say goodbye and fly down to Bendigo to have my poor computer fixed, it was all such a Murphy's law day.

I just want to thank Michael and his family for offering Ziggy just the best home I could ever want for such a terrific little guy and say sorry publicly for leaving you stranded for half the day, thank you for waiting, thank you not leaving when you have every right to.
And thank you for not holding my bomb of a life against Ziggy, I know you are made for each other.

Can't wait to hear that his has settled in with his terrific new family.

It is by the grace of god that my jobs get done and the very extraordinary patience of those around me. group.gif beer.gif signthankspin.gif

No worries at all Kerrie, and apologies are not at all required. We all had a great day and saw Echuca for the first time. Jack and Liam loved looking across the river to New South Wales, Lynette and I bought some lovely local wine and we got to take a fantastic Koolie pup home with us.

By the way, the fish and chips in Rochester are fantastic!!! I had the best piece of snapper I've had in years.

When we first phoned and there was no answer, I knew something had probably gone wrong, but that it would all work out sooner or later. Being a cancer survivor and having had a serious work/back injury 11 years ago, I fully understand how life can go pear shaped without notice.

Sorry you weren't able to contact me on my mobile (bloody Telstra and it's woeful coverage in country areas!!!!).

Ziggy is settling nicely into his new home. He's taken a shine to Lynette (a wise thing to do given she's the boss) and she's very taken with him. He's had a bath and has made himself at home on our couches. Apart from a few tiny niggles from Precious (when Ziggy sat on her favourite couch) the dogs are getting along fine. beer.gif

Thanks again Kerrie for a great little dog. I'll post some photos of both dogs on the forum soon.

Michael.

So good to hear all is well.

Did I say Ziggy was the last of nine.

Wrong, I have just been notified that his brother will be coming to stay, the Nsw foster has no room.

Like we do? I'm getting good at juggeling. Diello.gif

If anyone would like to know more about this little guy, I don't even have a name, but by Monday I'll know a whole lot more and will post photos of him for you.

Just drop a line
RachelleBuck
Tjukurpa you could get a job in the cirus with all the juggling your do!!!!!! It never rains, it poors!!!!

CONGRATS Michael and family with your new addition, you will be rapt!!! Don't worry about the small niggles. My Kelli gave birth to Libby and they still have the odd PMS session at each other!!!! Just remeber we all want to see you guys at the next meeting AND:

And I would have to go a long way to find him a better home.

Not wanting to steal this thread but just an update on the little guy, he is staying in Sydney for now, there are couple of hopeful homes we are looking into.

And we have had to miss out on our sheep weekend at Binalong because our girls have come into season, a month early might I add, so I'm going to eat chocoalate help.gif needaHug.gif
RachelleBuck
thanks Kerrie,
That is great to hear about the little guy, hopefully he will have a new home ASAP.
That is a pitty about your girls, they just have the best timing don't they. Will you be mating this season????

Regards the thread being worthless without pics, Rachellebuck, I've got photos to post here but the attachments button is not enabled (i.e. not even visible on my screen - I've done a help search which said it needs to enabled by admin). question1.gif I managed to post a picture of Precious on a different thread yesterday - I think it was on Lockie's post about Dottie's working skills. But I've had no luck in my attempts today. throw.gif

Cheers,

Michael
