Thanks Sheree, I'll follow it up, while your keeping your eyes open, look for potential owners too will ya.

Always easier to place rescues when there are homes waiting and we are bulging now.

Everyone who visits this forum please consider offering a rescue a home, or telling friends about them.

I would love to have a truley wonderful Christmas by finding all these terrific rescues their own loving forever home.

My heart felt thanks to those who have already made this most generouse offer and now share their home, family and love with a special friend who so richly deserves it.

Just an update the final pup from Bathurst has found a very loving family with children and they are joining Agility and herding for him.
So we should hear more good things about him soon, they may even find their way here.

Would love to help out!!
Please email me a poster with pix and some info on each dog and I will ask around and put up flyers with my AWL ones.
I am also happy to foster if needed just let me know.

several people have commented on Matilda and want one so I'll do my best :)

Tjukurpa is so right, the simple joys you get from a rescue Koolie can never fully be put into words. As a mummy to a rescue I can not recommend them enough, and I am sure that everyone out there is Koolie land with a rescue will agree with me. Come on everyone, Koolies are like Chocolates, you can never stop at one or two!!!! LOL. I am banned from fostering, Nick is worried about the outcome but I am always here to transport or anything else if need be!!!!
sheree_e4
Just heard on DOL that this boy is now urgent and only has until next week ......I am still happy to foster this boy if he comes into koolie rescue, just call me and I'll organise to get him picked up.
Tjukurpa
Have a call into them right now Sheree, should hear something soon.
Once I know what is going on I'll give you a call, as we will need someone to pick him up and foster him till we arrange something else for him.
sheree_e4
Thanx TJ, I am happy to foster as long as needed, as far as I know he has until Wed or Thurs and Qbn will not hold dogs over that time(21 days) this is the info I have on him through my contacts up there

Hi Sheree
I had him out for a little while on Saturday on his own. Unfortunately the facilities for thorough testing at the pound are not good and time was limited. He seems a lovely boy. Possibly has been a worker or has suffered some tough love as he is a little unsure of himself. His tail is wagging constantly when other dogs pass his pen and he did not react aggressively when a staffy girl started going off at him through the fence. He seems to want affection and a couple of times he went to jump up when he felt a little more comfortable but behaves very submissively when corrected. He has nothing at the moment and will be due either this coming Wed or Thurs. If you are still able to take him it would be good to arrange transport etc now as Qbn will not hold any dogs past due date as he will have been there 21days.
Tjukurpa
Terrific Sheree now if I can just get the ranger to return my calls.

Today must be a bad day for him and I haven't been able to catch him, but he has our details and knows that the koolie is wanted so it is just the organizing to be done.

Is there any day in particular that you can pick him up.

I will attend to the fees
sheree_e4
Hi TJ,
As far as I know this is whats happening,
Ailsa is picking up the boy from the pound friday at 8:30 or 9:30 awaiting conformation on exact time. and will transport him as far as Braidwood, where I will meet her and bring him home with me,I plan on having him c5 vacc on friday when I get back and he will be desexed asap after xmas.I am still awaiting a couple of calls so if anything changes I'll post here later.I will also ask my boss tomorrow about getting a discount.
Sheree.
Tjukurpa
Just too fantastic Sheree, Ailsa has called to confirm her involvement.

Looking forward to hearing he is safely in your care.

Big thanks to everyone who helped out, without your efforts and suport there is no Koolie Rescue.

Wish I could clone you all.

You will have to think of a new name for him now Sheree.
RachelleBuck
What a great xmas present for this guy!!! You guys rock (and so do the rescue dogs!!!) Maybe Nick (as in St Nicholas, being Xmas and all!!! Just a thought!!)
sheree_e4

I reckon 'Neily' might be a good name too (as in Nearly...) LOL. I've been watching this post with great interest and it's fantastic that you've managed to rescue another one.

Well done!

Michael

Top job sheree credit goes to you, Ailsa and shey, your quite a team.

Can't wait to see the pics.

Please remember to place Koolie rescue as the second contact for life on his micro-chip, so we know for sure he will never be at risk again.

Just recieved word from a shelter in Melbourne, they have been having trouble with pet dogs due to the thunder storms and they have just notified us a Koolie we bred four years ago has turned up, they contacted us through his micro-chip,(we remain the second contact for life on all our generation bred Koolies) we are just trying to locate his owner to let them know he's ok and where to pick him up.

Micro-chips work and this guy's going home.

For all those interested here are some pix of the boy from the pound, his name was Sam but apparently we should change it so have decided to call him "FROSTY" as in frosty the snowman being christmas and all (also the fact that I really like him and am happy to keep his name that if he ends up a foster failier)

So here is Frosty he is a bit wet as he had to be tick sprayed

I will post more pix tomorrow as my batteries have died and are recharging,he will have his vacc tomorrow,he is a very sweet boy.
I would like to thank Ailsa for picking him up and driving him to Braidwood and Shay for organising pick up from the pound and signing him over to Ailsa
RachelleBuck
These foster failers LOL. Maybe you are just as bad at fosters as I was!!! I want to keep them all!!! LOL good luck and can not wait for more pics!!!!
mykool
He looks like a very sweet and handsome boy, sheree. 'Frosty' is a beaut name for him too. Do you know how old he is? Was he dumped or surrendered?

Photos can't tell the whole story of course but he looks like he's good natured.

It's wonderful to see that smile on his face. And it's great to see he still has his appetite as well. Precious was so traumatised she didn't eat for three days when we rescued her from Burwood RSPCA in 1999.

You've done a great thing in fostering him. It's fantastic he's been rescued and will get the chance he deserves to find a loving home. Well done and - from one animal lover to another - Thank you. signthankspin.gif

Oh, geez, I wish I could give him a home myself, but as you know, we've just given a home to Ziggy and that makes two rescue Koolies in our house.

I just want to adopt them all because I hate to think of how many good dogs get put down each year.

Sadly we can't save them all, but you saved this one! Well done.

I heard that Frosty was left in the outdoor cage overnight and the Ranger found him the next morning.
They put him at around two, Sheree feels his teath are quite full of tartar so he might be a little older or just fed crappy food, she has given him some lovely meaty bones so hopefuly that will help.

But he is safe and recieving excelent care and yes is looks like I have to look for a new foster, again!!!

But it is such a worthwhile way to loose them.

Great effort and support everyone, this is how all rescues should go.

Sheree be sure to let me know the time for the vets appointment so Koolie Rescue can call and pay.
royalla
that is great news and i love the name. good luck sheree hopeing to see lots more pic' s of frosty and thank you for helping a koolie in need signthankspin.gif

tjukurpa, I've had the okay from the chief executive officer (Lynette) and we're willing and able to offer flexible short term fostering for koolie rescues if needed. I've started watching a few animal shelters on the eastern fringe of Melbourne too.

This is a very worthwhile cause.

As much as I'd like to have a dozen koolies for keeps, we're not set up for it. Our two permanent residents are enough (for now), but we can certainly foster if it means another one gets to live.

Whoever Frosty's previous owners were, at least they had the decency to leave him in the outside cage at the shelter and not dump him out in the middle of nowhere. I guess.

Frosty was not Sam for very long - I had to give him a name for the microchip paperwork and Sam was next on my list of boys names.

He is the nicest dog - very calm, friendly and interested in everything. Whether he is a foster failure or goes to seduce someone else into the world of Koolie addiction, whoever gets him will be very lucky.
Tjukurpa
Total agreement there Scouserdog, many thanks for all your effort in bringing this guy to safety.

As usual your always there, our little Gardian Angel.

sheree_e4
Hi All,
Well Frosty is a very nice boy,he gets on well with my boy but I have not let him with the girls yet,Kirah is rather dominant and Matilda seems to make him go a little nuts so we'll see how he goes in the next couple of days.He is coming to work with me tomorrow for his "big" op and a dental,I believe is is around 2-3 but has been fed crap food so has a lot of tartar on this teeth, especially his canines.Hopefully after his op he will stop marking everything in sight! So here are some pix taken today.

What he loves doing

royalla
now that's a dog to could just walk up to and give him a big cuddle he is so hansom i wonder why his owner dumped him at the pound
mykool
He's one beautiful and happy looking boy, sheree. Frosty is a great name for him.

The marking is not just limited to the boys though. Precious, my nine year old desexed female is a marker too.

Cheers,

Michael

I don't mind the name change - Frosty suits him. He looks so happy now - I am really glad we got him and I hope he finds a forever home soon.

Hi Sheree, How is Frosty getting along?

Michael
sheree_e4
HI ALL
Frosty is going great,he loves all the dogs, but has not been allowed out with kirah yet may try tomorrow if she is in a good mood,He is starting to chase the others now when I throw the ball for them.......BUT when I raise my arm to throw it he cowers then takes off after them.

He sits and waits to be told "ok" now before he eats and is a joy to have here, his stitches came out thursday but he has a mild case of kennel cough :( so he is not being treated just letting it run it's course.I will be moving in the next 2-4 weeks so if he has not be rehomed by then He will be moving too :).

will update with photos tomorrow as it is bath day for all!!
