OK, so I've worked out how to attach a photo file to my post but how can I just have my photo appear with the text in my post like I have seen elsewhere?

yep you can, I have a photobucket.com account where I upload/store my pics, then in a post you copy the 'direct link' from the photo on photobucket & then click on the little tree (image) icon in your post editor, it will ask for the image link & you just paste it in & bob's ya uncle your pic will come up in the post.
Hope that makes sense :)

Thanks. Clear as mud. I'll try it.

Don't forget to reduce your photo size if you are going to do this, because a lot of us are still on dial up or ISDN and if you are forced to download photos every time you view the thread the time involved and the cost just keep adding up. Although it's not as pretty to have attachments users have the option of opening each photo each time.

Ok, I'll keep that in mind. We've got satellie broadband now but I haven't forgotten how bad dial up was. A good speed for us used to be 19 kbs

Are you happy with the satellite?? We have been told now the ISDN will be shut down at the end of the year. Have heard some sad tales about satellite. When we were on dialup I know it got down under 10 at times but averaged around 16 to 20, don't want to go back to that!!

Satellite is just so much better than what we used to have. I said 19 was a good speed for us. Our top speed was 32 (this happened rarely) but we would often get 4 or 9. I couldn't go back either.
I do notice the difference when we have a bit of cloud cover though. Our only other option was wireless and Telstra had the monopoly on that. I've only just now noticed a couple of other companies advertising it. Don't know their coverage though.
