Hi All

A lot of our members are on the land, which usually includes other animals.

We also breed miniature horses. I am so pleased with some of the foals we are getting this year I just had to have a brag!!

Here are 2 of our little girls. Keep in mind they were only about 20" at the shoulder when born.

I hope to have a few more to brag about soon. excited.gif

Look out your window there may just be one there waiting in the queue at your door beamme.gif You wouldn't have even noticed :smiley2: with your lot tongue.gif

more photos will certainly follow....another half dozen babies to come yet. Minis are very popular as companions for big horses as they don't eat much or need all the fussing of a big horse and they fit in the front of a double float. A friend and I comfortably transported 5 minis in a double float once. ;)

He is handsome :gleam: Just a tad large for me :o

Our aim is to breen an arabian style of miniature. Is there much of a difference between an Anglo Arab and pure Arab? :smiley2:

Hi All

Here is another photo of a gorgeous little girl that arrived during all our recent rain. We had had 80mls in just over 24 hours and the paddock was a sea, except for those mounds that they visit regularly through the day. I wasn't concerned that anyone would foal as usually wet weather puts them off and they wait till it fines up. But next morning I went out to find this little girl wandering around her poo island!! Very happy and healthy even though we had another 8mls that afternoon.

Hope you like her as much as I do.

bond007
Bond here: hi silhouette, are those ponies for pygmies or for pulling Billy cart’s with kids in them. I think because they look so great that every household should have one as an environmentally efficient lawn mower. Portable, small to put away, all automatic, little supervision and the by product you can put in the garden. So throw away those petrol guzzling lawn mowers and introduce these terrific looking mini horses. Do you think I would make a good salesman? Bond out.

Thanks for the Birthday greetings.
The New Year is bound to be better than the last.
Hopefully we will be able to get to more of the Koolie Club meetings in the New Year than we did in the last.

Great shots karolinakoolie...nice looking horses... Great idea.gif Niceparty.gif A bit bigger than Silhouette horses drunk.gif excited.gif kewldude.gif thanx.gif
karolinakoolie

You are so right. I have learned by having the big draft horses that everything has to be bigger. Bigger tack, bigger stalls, bigger pasture, bigger horse trailers.... just plain bigger.

Glad you like them. Next to my Koolies they are my most prized postion. I love them dearly.

You get a chance check out our other site....

www.HeavyHorseHills.741.com

This is of our farm, horses and carriage service as well as our white dove release. We also have our Koolie site linked from here. Again thanks for the words of praise.

Tell me about your Koolies or other animals.

Great idea.gif Wow Karolinakoolie those guys are HUGE, but gorgeous. They look beautiful in their harness also.

I bet we spend about the same amount on hay though!!! Sorry, don't have to hard feed they get fat on grass hay here.

Thanks for the photos. California.gif
karolinakoolie

These big guys only get fed grain once a day and only 6lbs. Not any more than my regular horses. But they can put away the hay. Between the two of them it is four bails a day......

Got to run... working on the site... get a chance pop over...

Hiya2.gif Hi all, he was about 18 inches at the wither at birth, which is reasonably small, but also he doesn't seem to be growing at very fast rate at all, fully grown (4years) he will probably be around the 30-32 inch mark (just a tad smaller than Karolinakoolies). A couple of days later another arrived who is almost an exact replica. Very disappointed to say....another male, so far 6 foals arrived and only two females and one of those from a mare I have sold and the lady hasn't picked up yet. But I am very pleased also with the female we are keeping. Life is very hectic at the moment, but will try and get out with the camera soon, seeing as I have a captive audience. Went out to feed them after the rain a night or 2 ago (yes delighted to say we have had more rain!!!!!) and they were enjoying it so much the foals were running around prancing, rearing and pig rooting having a ball but it was just too dark for the camera - just a hoot!

Jan, good luck with the lambs...it sounds like the local birds will have lovely soft nests for their babies this year with all that bedding material laying around....have you thought of using it for mulch on the garden? Would look a bit different but great insulation for summer....
