How do I attach an image to my post?
On the post screen, click the 'Browse' button down in the 'File Attachments' area. Select the file you wish to attach from your computer - an image attachment must be no larger than 300k, and should be a GIF, JPG or JPEG. Once you've selected the attachment click 'Add this attachment' to add it to your post. You can include more than one image attachment to a post. When your happy with the post and the attachments, submit the post. If you have trouble with the image attachment process, check below.

Q. I can't get an image to upload - help !
This is usually down to one of two things - either the image you are trying to upload is too large, or it is the wrong file format. The best way to fix either of these problems, is to use a paint application such as Jasc Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photoshop or MS Digital Image Pro etc... to resize or convert the image as needed. Remember, an image can be no larger than 250kb in size, and avatars can be no larger than 90x90mm pixels width/height. The image must also be either a JPG, JPEG, GIF or PNG to work.

Attachments
In forums where attachments are allowed you have even more control then before. You can attach multiple files.

So here we go... when posting to a forum which attachments are allowed we have lots of controls at our fingertips:

1) Click 'Browse' and choose a file from your local hard drive to upload.

2) Click 'Add This Attachment', this will actually upload it, if you forget this step your attachment will not get uploaded After this step you will see a screen similar to the image above. There's a few numbers to give you some feedback, on the left side is the Global Space Left which represents the total amount of space you have available for all your attachments on the entire site. For our purposes this number is relatively small to encourage the use of the Gallery.

3) Click 'Add into Post' to insert your attachment into your post. This will insert a little text placeholder which will be replaced with your real attachment when your post is viewed. It will look something like '[ attachmentid=123 ]'. You may move this around to have it show up anywhere in your post you would like. For example, the image I attached above

So how do you manage your attachments and delete old ones to free up space for new ones? Great questions! For that we need to head into 'My Controls'. On the left side of the screen click on 'Manage Your Attachments'. This will bring up a list of all your attachments, how much space they are consuming, and which post they are located. To remove old attachments click the checkbox for each one you wish to remove and click 'Delete Selected' to remove them.

I hope this helps biggrin.gif
