We had a fun day instead of training at dog school yesterday, there were tunnels, jumps with tyres & hurdles, weaving poles, a table, ramp & seesaw, I put all 3 of my girls through even poor old JC, she was like a 2yo dogwalk.gif . When Pebbles & Izzi worked out the tunnel was safe they had the best time, should have seen all their faces, big bright eyes & huge smiles excited.gif , didn't want to stop & when I tied them all up they all kept playing, didn't stop until well after we got home. I've never seen Izzi so excited puppy.gif . OH & Pebbles graduated to grade 2 & because Izzi & Pebbles are in the same grade now I'm putting Pebbles in with the grade 4's, I can't work them both at once. We also had Alexis here on Thursday & both girls went real well, so hopefully I'll start making better progress with Izzi. I've also got some more interesting things to use at home like a hoola hoop with a grass skirt hanging on it for them to go through or sit in then lift over their head, gets boring doing the same old sit, stand & stay. The hoop & skirt weren't recomended by anyone I just came up with it myself haha.gif. Add that to all our walking & climbing & I don't think they'll ever die of bordom d.gif.

Sounds like you had as much fun as the dogs. The hula hoop sounds like a good idea with the grass skirt attachment. That is the problem with having more than one dog you cannot train both at the same time, which will be a problem with me. But twice as much fun!

yes it sounds like you all had fun have your girls ever done agility before. sorry i can't remember if they had or not if not don't put them on the sew saw it can be very scary for them until they learn to stop wait then go lol little gypsy some times forgot that it moved and ended high up in the air her hole 3 1/2kgs didn't make it go down very fast so she did have a couple of flying lessons when she was not listening to me. from the sounds of it your girls and you would love agility very much you should give it a go i loved it and so did gypsy and spice

Woohoo I'm back on air again, the computer went bang on Monday & we've just got it back. Anyway back to the subjet, we've never done agility before but after seeing the girls go through the course last weekend I'm sure we'd all love it. The seesaw was very very low it only moved a few inches down so didn't frighten them they just didn't understand walking on a plank. I've thought of taking Izzi & Pebbles to agility school but the closest one is in Gawler about 90km away so might have to just enjoy the fun days at dog school.

what a shame yes the close agility to me now is 169kms away so i know how you feel

That is what I want to do TJ, just a few pieces for the acre block. I have already set aside a place for the girls training area and where the ducks will be and some main trees. A white cedar tree, a peanut tree (it is a local tree with the brightest and large orange seed pod), a poinsiana (not sure on spelling). There is a moretan bay fig already right down the back of the land, it is about my height. I am not that tall though. lol.

I guess I am lucky to have a trainer that is close to be about 30 minutes away. Mind you she is the only one, and I would be stuffed if she went. Which means I would have to join the local club who shuns anything that is not a known "show dog", you can go there but they tend to look down upon you.

I'm going to make a few bits & pieces to play around with, a plastic tarp made into a tent would do for a tunnel, got some fence posts to trot over, sticks to weave through & of course the hoola hoop & grass skirt so it's a start & very professional looking d.gif. Alexis can help me when she comes here for our training sesions but I can't do too much because Pebbles & Izzi aren't quite 1yo yet. Bill has just taught Pebbles to catch a ball but Izzi just stands there & lets it hit her in the head so guess catching isn't her thing funny.gif.

Izzy used to do the same thing, throw ball and kerduk in the head. She finally grasped onto the concept that "oh I am supposed to catch it" about Christmas time, she was a year old. Maybe has something to do with the names. lol.
