Hi,
John and Vanessa from Sydney here. Two years ago we hadn't even heard of Koolies. We now have two - one rescue blue merle called Cooper (thank you Trudy), and one gorgeous little brown merle female called Ash (thank you Enid).
Cooper was 15 minutes away from being put down at the pound in Canberra and we really believe that he knew it, because it seems that his motto now is 'live every moment to the fullest'. He just loves life, people, other dogs - everything. Some would say he is a bit full-on, but he is personality plus. Then we learned that this is a Koolie trait. So now we are hooked. We have a beautiful little female pup - 6 months old now...and she is personality plus as well. Both are doing obedience and herding (well, starting on the herding bit...)

Hi Cooper (John and Vanessa)
to the forum! Some pics are in order of your koolies please!!! Congrats on rescuing too! Koolies are pretty full on personality wise but I wouldn't have it any other way. I recently nicknamed my Paxy "the maniac" - I offered to leave her with an experienced trainer the other week and she just laughed! One day the training will kick in I'm sure!

You will love it here. Everybody is pretty laid back and we certainly have many varied and sometimes weird discussions. I also discovered Koolies about three years back when I was looking for another dog, and they are addictive. I only have one koolie a female red merle called Ceejay, my other is a rescue Kelpie x cattle, called Izzy. But yes they are all very similar with their traits and they do love everyone and expect everyone to love them back.
Photos are a must on this forum, so piccies of your two dogs would be great. We all like photos here of everyones dogs and what they get up to. Enjoy our wonderful little community in here.

Welcome Cooper! And yes, thankyou for rescuing a Koolie. I hope you enjoy yourselves here and feel comfortable to contribute and also ask questions. Koolie owners are the only ones that really understand!!!

Hi Guys, as you can see the welcomes are warm and the desire for photos a driving force.
Let me add my own welcome and hope that we will see you at a future workshop at Binalong, I'd love the chance to get some shots for the newsletter, and please keep in mind everyone, don't think of just sharing here on the forum, there are a lot of members who can't get on to the internet.
So if you have stories or are involved in trials, fundays or any activities remember our other members who would love to follow your adventures.
