Hi all
I am very new to the world of Koolies. I recently purchased a pup, and she is 7 weeks old and her name is Lou Lou...she is cream with very pale tan patches that are darkening every day. It will be interesting to see how she colours up.

I have been involved in rescue, but am now more involved in rescuing working breeds such as Koolies. So if anyone needs any help, just yell! I am also keen to get an older boy...maybe under one, but I am not too fussed. If anyone has an older boy, that will be desexed (not sure if I want to breed), please let me know. He will have a lovely home, as does Lou Lou with loads of attention, sleeping with me LOL and I am probably going to dabble in agility...
Just PM me, or I can be called on 0412862304.

Hope to talk to you all soon...

Cheers

In case you hadn't realised, I'm aka WalandLibby. Been wondering when we'd see you here.

Lou Lou seems absolutely gorgeous, but you need to be warned that I have violent fits of jealously at ppl with puppies.
Beth
LOL I thought you were!
Oh, you should be jealous, she is just gorgeous and as I said, I hope to add to her very soon with a boy. I am just going to tell my OH he is a foster....that forgot to get another home LOL.
He is such a sook anyway, he really doesn't mind.
We have kittens at the moment, and I returned home to find him on the floor playing with the babies...big and tough...not.
That reminds me....anybody want a kitten? They are very unusual colours...a bit like the Koolies.
Thanks for all the genetic info too. Very interesting.
Cheers

Thankyou all for your wonderful welcome, it's very refreshing to receive such positive vibes from a dog forum LOL.

I will try to post some pics of my baby, but I am not very good at it. I might have to ask someone to help me....

I'm sure I will learn a lot here, everyone seems very helpful and enthusiastic..again very refreshing!

I hope that I will add to my baby in the not too distant future with a boy...all ideas welcome. Thankyou to Royalla for her advice.

Now for the pics...if someone can tell me how to do it, I will get some up ASAP. signthankspin.gif

Hi Beth
welcome to the forum. How is little Loulou still trying to find the date that I will be at Southern Districts (just a little problem lost the schedule LOL)
cheers

Beth
She's going really well, and yes she is sleeping with me still....
She is very samrt and naughty, busy chewing what she wants and ignoring us! She is in love with my OH, which is what always happens.
We have booked her into puppy school and are trying to teach her a bit of respect with food rewards, which she loves.
I am hoping to catch you soon. Lou Lou has had her 1st injections so she should have some cover. I might even be able to bring her to see you.
Meanwhile I am tring to work out how to put on pics...might email them to you Danni...
Cheers

welcome2.gif Enjoy the forum and join in the discussions, sometimes they meander from the original thread but it makes it so much more enjoyable. Have you had a Koolie before? How long have you been in rescue for? I have tried twice but ahem failed twice. Two rescues, two dogs kept. lol. Welcome again and enjoy the forum.

Beth
No, Lou Lou is my first Koolie..and as I've said a few times I'm hoping for a boy now..hint, hint LOL. I have been doing rescue for a couple of years in a small way, one or two at a time. I now want to concentrate on a breed, and after getting my little Koolie, I hope to help where I can with this soft breed.

I'm also hoping to gain lots of knowledge from everyone so that we can train Lou Lou and her new friend (when I find one) properly. They live in suburbia so will do obedience etc to keep them happy...and Lou Lou sleeps with me (as will her friend). Poor OH gets relegated to the spare bed!
So keep your eyes open for my new boy, any age considered! Thanks Janet...can't wait to see your pics! zpls.gif

The best way to put up pics is to put them somewhere like photobucket and then paste in their address/code, surrounded by
CODE
[img] and [/img]
, so that it looks like this

Hi Beth

To add photos, in the reply window where you enter your message, just above the add reply button is a Add This Attachment button- click on the browse button first to find your photo on your computer, select it the click Add This Attachment. Select multiple photos if you wish, once you are finished the photos are listed at the bottom of the window, place the cursor in your message where you would like the photo shown then click on the add button beside the photo you want included. Keep in mind we have several members on dialup so photos are best reduced, about 200kb is fairly managable. The advantage of this over photobucket links is that people can select to download a photo or all photos but do not have to incurr the cost of download each time they return to the thread particularly if the photos are large. Have a try and if you don't have any luck I would be happy for you to email them to me at editor@australian-koolies.info and I'll put them up Pup.gif
Beth
Thanks Silhouette
Will give it a go when I get home...madam is so spoilt I brought her to work today...I have so much paperwork to do I thought no-one would notice her under my desk LOL.
Oh, just to remind you all again...still looking for a boy.....any thoughts/help would be appreciated LOL...not that I'm a nag or anything. You know when you get that itch, it's just gotta be scratched LOL. help.gif

Have you talked to the KCA puppy officer? (think that is her title - actually I don't even know who it is.)

Last I checked (admittedly a while ago) Rescue had a couple of adult males up on PetRescue, not sure if they're still there. Tj would know - I think those dogs were actually living with her. There are these little guys... http://www.petrescue.com.au/view/32639#pic http://www.petrescue.com.au/view/31655 . And this not so little but very handsome guy... http://www.petrescue.com.au/view/24809#pic . None red, but blue is lovely too :-)

Mushoz might still have some male pups (non-merle red and red-and-tan) from her litter, they must be about 14wks now. She doesn't get on the forum much, so you might need to chase up her ph number to check.

She's a long way from you, but afaik JackieH still has male pups from her litter (red non-merle and red merle).
Beth
Hi KoolieMum
Thanks for you info, but as luck would have it, I got a call about a little rescue boy...about 4-5 months. I think he his blue/black merle. He arrives tomorrow and I am very excited!
I will try to post pics as soon as I get him!
There will be 3 in the bed tomorrow night LOL.
Thanks all signthankspin.gif ....now I wonder if I can stop at 2 LOL. d.gif

Beth
Oh yeah...don't worry, there will be pics. It's my daughter's 8th birthday tomorrow but I think I am more excited than her LOL.
He came from the Griffith area I believe.
Name help will be required with the pictures!

Hi and welcome, Lou Lou is a nice name, i have a Lu-Lu and she is a real little character, only not a Koolie d.gif

Enjoy the forum. welcome2.gif
Beth
Hi all
Well the little lad arrived on Saturday, and what a sweetheart he is. He is blue merle I think!
I really want to keep him, but OH says we can't rescue anymore if we keep him as we will have too many dogs.....sigh. At least we managed to sneak him out of the pound...they pts really quick there, which is why we got him out under the radar.
I so wanted a mate for Lou Lou, but after the big discussion with my OH, he is correct (not that I am going to tell him)...to be able to have a foster from time to time we need to have the room. Its just that Koolies are so nice I think I got carried away.
Anyhow, this boy has a pink nose, and is very pretty and extremely gentle. Good on the lead, quiet and sooky, as well as being good with cats. I couldn't see him working at all! He is about 5 months. So if anyone knows of a good home, preferably in Adelaide, let me know.
There are no dramas about how long he can stay.
I probably look like a dunderhead now, but at least he is safe for the pound.
Cheers

Hey Beth
Be careful there is lots of Kennel Cough going around Adelaide at the moment. Out north Para Districts is closed for two weeks cause of the outbreak lots of people I know have got it and its also down south as well. Have friends both north and south and they have it
cheers
Danni

Also have heard that the animal welfare league has it as well
Beth
Thanks Danni
I had her vaccinated the week I got her so she should be covered until her 12 week one now, otherwise I would not have risked another dog. Every dog I have ever rescued from Mildura has shocking kennel cough...takes ages and ages for it to go, but luckily for me, I have never had it in my own dogs. I am pretty fussy about their vaccs etc with me bring in different dogs. There are a few pounds I will not touch due to constant parvo, and have been lcuky to never have had it here.
bugger me if I can't find the attachment button, so will send you some photos Danni...can you post them for me please? signthankspin.gif
Cheers

Beth
Did you get the pics of Lou Lou helping with the kittens Danni?
Will have to have another try at pictures...they are a crack up. She is just beautiful and growing very quickly Renae.

Hi Beth
Welcome to the Koolie world, I have my first koolie as well, went with Danni to pick out her new one last year and came home with a lovable blue merle boy who I called Ashwyn, his nature and temperament and terrific and so easy to train, mind you focus is another matter.

He is Gabby's brother they are like twins, he competed at Whyalla in CCD I was happy he passed and the bonus was coming 1st which I didn't expect. Mind you he was more interested in the agility rings which I think he would have preferred to be in.

I've also added details where to go to on sat to the trial down your way on the a big brag as Danni was having trouble with her computer

Hope to see you at the trials next year
Cheers
Linda
Beth
Thanks...will go and have a look and maybe see you all there.
I am having real trouble stopping at one, and am dying to get a red merle....LOL.
Cheers
