Otto passed over the rainbow bridge to join his friend Heidi early today. After having a lovely day yesterday where he had a fresh bone, a short walk and a brush we were woken by Otto's friend Molly to find Otto in a bad way. After a short drive to the vet we were given the facts of his condition and chose the hard course for us but the best course for Otto.
Why Mr Wonkie you may ask? Otto had many leg issues during his 15 1/2 years. First he strained his tendions in his front legs while he was a pup then an accident tore a medial ligament at a young age which was repaired. Then at an older age the other medial ligament went which was also repaired. He also had a few inconvenient growths removed during the last few years. So Mr Wonkie came about by his determination to walk out of the Vet after each of his repairs while still half sedated.
Cherie and I will miss Otto as will his young friend Molly. Goodbye my loyal friend.

So sorry to hear about Otto, Mr Wonky, sounds like he was a real fighter & gave every thing his best shot.

That' so sad. They truly our our best friends. Fifteen and a half years is a good innings, bless him.

Gosh these guys are great survivors, well done Otto!! And well done to you two, if only all dogs had owners like you there would be no need for groups like Koolie Rescue and we would have wonderful old dogs wandering around with very contented smiles.
