Don't know if koolie rescue has been notified but there is a koolie x girl in Kurri pound. She has a lovely face but sad eyes. Scroll down the page.

You need to let Kerrie Challenger - Tjukurpa - know - she does not always come on here and is not likely to see it - give her a call on
03-5486-5370. Where is Kurri anyway?
Bluedog
I'll try TJ tomorrow. Kurri is in the Hunter Valley. Not very far from me so if needed I may be able to help out for a short time. It does say she is a climber and I don't have high fences.

for gods sake get her OUT OF THERE it's still the same shitty pound with the same holes in the walls as it was when i was i kid ( i am 47 now thats 37yrs and it has not changed) it would to the most horrible pound in australia. it gave me chills seeing it again i watched a poor foxie die in one of those pens in a slow cruel death and there was no one around or any one to call to get him help and by the looks of things it has not changed, If someone can get her out send her up to me or down to kerrie please DON'T LEAVE HER THERE
Bluedog
I've just rung and left a message for Kerrie. Thanks for the offer Royalla, if she can get up to you that would be wonderful. I'm just not sure how it's done so will wait to see if Kerrie can fill me in when she calls back.

Keep her in a crate - I have the little boy from Wagga here and he is a handful but he is crated when he is not out in the yard under very close supervision. I rented the crate from the local vet but I think I might buy one.
royalla
bluedog is she safe ??????
Bluedog
She's safe and coming to me this afternoon but I'm really restricted on how long I can have her unfortunately. She will go for vaccs tomorrow and desexing next week as early as possible. If anyone else could take her before Easter please let me know, I can hold her till just after the Easter weekend but after that I'm stuck.

I have this little girl now and she is very sweet and affectionate. Her tail hardly ever stops wagging. She has her adult teeth just come through so she would be around 5 to 6 months at a guess. She is quite fine in build. Her markings are quite unusual - she has what I would call brindle markings but the white merle hairs come through the brindle giving her silver highlights! I'll put some pics up tomorrow. She and Paxy are having a wonderful time playing. I think this one would be very easy to train as she is very human focussed unlike my monster!

She sounds very sweet - I have the little boy from Wagga who is a cutie but so naughty - he was desexed today and I am hoping will be rehomed very quickly because Perry hates his guts.

That must be hard when they dislike each other like that. Paxy and Dizzy seem to be getting along except when they're eating bones so I stood between them as there was lots of serious growling from both of them if either got too close to the other. Poor little Dizzy doesn't seem to know how to play with toys. It's like she's never been allowed to play. I have photos but I'm too tired at the moment. She cried A LOT last night so I finally slept on the couch with the crate next to me and she fell asleep but I didn't!

Zac (short for ANZAC) had never had toys either but it has not taken him long to learn to chase balls or to play with the children from next door who are very taken with him. The 8 year old girl next door is busy training him and since they started on wednesday night he has learnt to come to his name, walk on lead and sit and wait for his dinner - someone is going to get a very bright little dog.
royalla
maybe you can talk the girls mum into letting her keep him, it sounds like she likes him a lot.

Bluedog it sounds like you have named her Dizzy, it will be interesting to see pic's of her what do you think she has been crossed with ?
scouserdog
My dog trainer already has two dogs including a 6 month old pup - I cannot see her parents agreeing to any more. Any way it is all academic - Tjukurpa has found the pup a great forever home and Zac will be going to them in the next couple of days.

Here are some pics of Dizzy! She is very sweet and starting to learn to play with toys but would still rather play with Paxy. She has met the cat and is interested and needs a few more meetings to learn some cat greeting manners or she'll get her nose swiped.
I'm not sure what she's crossed with, her face seems a bit too sharp for a koolie - more like a foxie's face shape. My OH suggested a Tasmanian Tiger with her stripes and her face!!
Silhouette
Whippet/Greyhound perhaps???
royalla
i think i will go along with sil on that one, by looking at her pic's is the only merleing on her face ? the rest of her looks like it's just brindled how tall is she?

Zac is off to his new home tomorrow - his new Mum and Dad drove up from Melbourne to Canberra today to pick him up - they think he is perfect and he is in everyone's eyes except Perry's. She will be breaking out the pigs ears to celebrate once he has gone.
royalla
i bet perry will miss him she now has no one to grump on, hey it gave her something to do lol they could have even been like in the movies girl meets boy thinks she hates boy then when he is gone works out she really likes him lol
scouserdog
Perry celebrated by helping herself to two pigs ears - I think she is really happy he is gone.

Dizzy was desexed, vaccinated and microchipped yesterday. She's quite a placid little thing and will just come and lie down in the kitchen to be with you. She and Paxy just lurv each other so keeping her quiet will be the challenge.
Bluedog
Dizzy has gone to her new home in Canberra today!!! Yeah for Dizzy!! Thanks Koolie Rescue!!!
