Just thought i would introduce myself, i have visited occasionally and tried joining a few times but for some reason or another it wouldn't let me... anyway am now finally a member... although i do not own a koolie, some believe that i do.. i own, breed and train Border Collies, my youngest a choc merle tri boy, is quite often mistaken for a Koolie, which is fine by me... I have friends with Koolies and will own one one day, when the time is right and the right one comes along... Attended Royalla's herding workshop last year, had a great time, learnt heaps and am looking forward to doing more... this weekend just gone, i entered my first short course sheep trial at Dogamania... dogs ran well, managed a 2nd & 3rd in the Novice finals with 2 of them on Sat & the same on Sunday, also got into the Open Final on Sunday and placed 4th... so a good start to our trialling career...

anyway looking forward to keeping track of all the lovely Koolies you all own... and hearing of all the great achievements...

thanx.gif

welcome2.gif DunwurknBCs how's your crew going very well by the sounds of it and i am glad you did so well at the trial, again a big welcome hoping to see heaps more of you on here

Welcome to the forum Alison...

Hope all is well with you and your gorgeous team of BC's and doesn't matter if you don't have a Koolie, like you say one day you will see the light and you will have many!!

Ps Frazzle is still with me and going great!!

Dogamainia sounds great I do so wish we had more things like that up here, there is so much travel involved.

welcome2.gif surprised1.gif nice to see that you finally got here, so congrats on Dogmania so who was it that got the placings?????And what weekend can i book so you can come and give me some pointers on sheep herding!!!!!
DunwurknBCs
Thanks Janet, Jackie & Kylie...

as for who got the placings on the weekend...

Saturday, Coco 2nd Place, GT 3rd Place... in Novice

Sunday, Focus 2nd Place, Coco 3rd Place.. in Novice & Coco 4th Place in the Open final...

Coco actually got highest score in the finals on Saturday- 82 but the placings are decided upon by adding the 2 rounds together.. Focus got an 87 in the final round on Sunday... the winning dog both days, gets lots more sheep practise then my dogs, and scored between 80 & 89, so i was very happy with our first outings...

Was very different going to a comp and not competing in Agility, but commonsense prevailed and with a litter of puppies as well... knew i would not have the time to do all three sports my dogs are trained for..

My old dog Buddy, played Canine Disc with a junior and they managed to get 1st place at the Aust Disc Nationals in the Junior division.. Focus also played disc with a friend and done very well, placing well overall.. with 38 teams competing... not sure of the final placings just yet...

Jackie, glad Frazzle is living it it up in North QLD and loving it...

Kylie, yes we will have to make a weekend soon, but with Rally-O this weekend and then i am off to an Agility trial in Ipswich the following weekend, then we have our next canine disc training clinic, don't think it will be this month... question1.gif i think we need more weekends in the month

Cheers
Allison

Welcome! You sound so busy with all the things you do. Hopefully we will meet up if you go to another koolie get together in Qld. And there is never enough weekends, I keep saying that they should change the 5 day working week to 4 and then everyone will be happy :)
JackieH
Hoorah to that!! there is just never enough time to do everything!! d.gif

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you've done really well with the BC's - now you need a koolie to complete your life!

Oh Kool, another Agiliteer! :-)I think there are about half of a dozen of us who do agility on here now.
My boy Dice is about 3 months away from being old enough to compete, and I'm pleased with how his training is coming on. I think he will thrash the pants off my Welshie Ashley, when he settles in to the game. She's a fantastic dog, the best performing agility spaniel I've seen, but he has more drive than her.
DunwurknBCs
Thanks for the welcome guys....

yeah penny i love playing Agility, my old dog has his Australian Agility Championship Title, both girls are doing well, just need to get to more comps.. Focus will make his debut in 2 weeks... Have also played with Flyball, Buddy competed a couple times and has his FDX.. both the girls have been trained up to the turn on the box stage, might get around to finsihing their training off one day, but gave up Flyball for Herding... Canine Disc is also great fun... am just starting to teach them some freestyle routines... hoping to compete in the world dog games which will be hedl in Sydney at the end of the year...

you will see some Koolies in my Avatar(on top of the hay bales) both are owned by friends, Blue Cattle dog in front and my four keeping them altogether LOL...

Bluedog that is my Smith boy at Royalla's workshop!! isn't he kool!!! I was so stoked with my Koolies surprised1.gif it was pretty hard to wipe the grin off my face watchin' them work.

PS they were Royalla's sheep, all gone now.

I am itching to try Izzy on goats now. She was introduced through the fence to my friend's two goats, she was trying to fit under the gate to get at them. So she is keen. Ceejay sat down calmly and watched them with her keen eye. I am getting serious withdrawals from herding, I know that I am not great at it, but my girls loved it the last time I went.

Duny, looks like you are going to fit right in here, sense of humour is important and insanity a must. lol.

That's a stunning group of dogs Duny! All look so regal and ready to work!
Ceejay
He he, Buddy looks like he is enjoying himself, he is smiling for the camera. They looked like they had fun by their coats. You must be proud of your bunch, do they all get along? I imagine they would.

You can tell that they are koolies in the top photo, sitting with their chests out and to attention.
Penny Nalder
That is a great pic, I must see if I could get something like it... oh no, I don't have enough matching dogs!
royalla
