Hi everybody, my name is Pat Smith, from Lakesland NSW. I've owned, bred, shown, done obedience and now herding GSDs for over 40 years and now I've just been landed with double trouble, 2 Tjukurpa (one day I'll be able to spell that without looking, it's probably as bad as mine which is Bhuachaille)Koolies.

My 2 as you can guess are from Kerrie Challenger, the boy is called Rowdy and he lives up to his name. He is also the world' greatest escape artist! He loves my 9 1/2 year old German Shepherd, Chance and when he's not with him he manages to get out of the pen by either climbing over the top of the 6 feet wire, or underneath it, mind you, he'll probably have no teeth left shortly, he's even pulling on the chain wire and managing to make holes big enough to get through. Now Kinta is a different kettle of fish, very quiet until I walk away from her, or we go out to feed the sheep, then she just doesn't shut up. As I said, double trouble! d.gif No rest for the wicked, is there?

Seriously though, I wouldn't be without them. puppy.gif

welcome2.gif Yes we all love our koolies too with all the quirks. Please post some photos of the pair, plus some of your GSD's. They are beautiful dogs too, very elegant and regal. You can talk to another member here Royalla about her escape artist Mirra, maybe swap notes. lol. This is a great forum where topics tend to diversify but never get nasty, weird though. :)

Very big welcome2.gif you will love it on here and people on here are so lovely and have a lot of excellnt info. It is just a real credit to them all. Anyways we have a escape artists aswell we are from SA and breed Koolies and they all have there own characters that is what is so unique about them I think. Sounds like you do have your hands full but it is all worth it in the end i can assure you. When they have sort of calmed down notice I said sort of LOL, they are amazing dogs. Anyways look forward to hearing about your babies and all your success with them. Welcome again. Pics please please we all love pics.

If they are anything like Nudge (who also came from Kerrie) you are definately in trouble!! I could write a book on her antics, but she has now settled in and knows the routine and we very rarely have problems with climbing in the bedroom window .....

PS welcome to the forum

welcome2.gif I am sure you will enjoy yourself here.

A good friend of mine owes GSD's breed from a kennel near Sydney. Her dogs are from Freevale, not sure if you have heard of them but they have a number of Champs.

It doesn't suprise me your boy can climb the fence, I think Koolie's are like cat dogs.

Yes being the proud owner of Mirra, Dance, Ice, Connie and Coopers they are all koolie x CAT lol but i will say this Dance only goes over the fence to get back in when i let the dogs out for a run, now Dance see's it this way if she is on the inside and every one else is on the out side she can BLOODY fence run and young Coops go's over the fence to join her..... you got to love them all lol

I very badly hope Raz has no cat in him...as we have low fences and if he figures it out...then it will cost money for me to raise them...or get a new fence :/
