Hi,
There are some photos of Tage with cattle. Tage is very intent with cattle without being too agressive. We started to train with four one year old calves and now we train with herd of bull, heifer and cows with their calves. Tage canīt survive by himself yet but Elmo and Tage make a perfect couple. So he can be with us in "real work". Iīm surprised how easily he learns what I want him to do!

Tage is one year old. I think we are on the same wavelenght with Tage. He doesnīt need hard commands. He thinks very much by himself and looks what Elmo is doing at work.
Elmo is nine years old working kelpie.
Tage seems to be a real koolie!

We called him our little piranha... He hasnīt ruin anything if we were there but if we went to work with cattle without him - OH NO !!!! He seemed to be everywhere even on our radio! He can open doors with his teeth so he has broken our doorknobs... If we have to leave him inside our house alone we must lock the door and shut the another door with screwdriver! And hope he doesnīt jump through the window...

Thanks for the update on how our Australian Kooli cross kangaroo/crocodile dogs are going in the Northen Hemisphere! My dogs came off a cattle farm, so it's great to see European Koolies working those terrible cows! Tage seems to be going great-have you tried Tage in the bed with you yet on a cold night? Koolies are good at that too-ha ha.

Tage sounds like a real working dog. It is always good to work a young dog with an experienced older dog. Kelpies are my second favourite breed, especially the working lines. Sometimes Koolies are too smart for their own good and get up to unintended mischief or intended.

Shaunagh: I have made our bedroom dog-hair-free-area. ;) So I canīt use my dogs as heaters! ;)
Tjukurpa: I had difficulties in typing but now my hands are getting better. I milk by hands one of my cows ( the most of our cows are beefcattle) and itīs a little bit hard to my hands. My e-mails have been recently very short and full of mistakes. ;)
I gave your hug to Tage! ;) And yes, I will write something of Tageīs life to you.

Our dogs have own beds in the entry but they can go everywhere in our house except bedrooms. Our bedrooms is in upstairs and I donīt dare to imagine what happens if they were in upstairs and someone would come in... They might break their legs or something worse when they rush to downstairs! And they really RUSH! ;) I think they donīt even know what do slowly or carefully mean. They are peaceful only when they are sleeping.

Don't they look sweet in their beds!!!
We have baby gates put up to stop access to our upstairs and part of downstairs. This is partly so the cat has free access and when toilet training I didn't want a dog running all over our house! Paxy loves going upstairs though and you can generally find her bouncing on my bed when she escapes through the gates!
