We all love our Koolies and get so much joy from having them around so don't forget to help the not so lucky Koolies that are lost and abandoned. Unfortunately we are getting more and more Koolies into shelters throughout Australia, but we as Koolie lovers can help these dogs.

IT'S EASY. Tell your local Shelter to let you know when Koolies are up for adoption at their shelter. Ask them to email you a photo and details and then let everyone know by posting the info here and on www.petrescue.com.au

And if you are a breeder, microchip your pups and put your info as the second contact. I'm sure you would be horrified to think any of your pups end up in shelters, but it always amazed me just how many purebred dogs (all breds) we would get, that had obviously come from somewhere! Often the owners were too embarassed to return them to the breeder (or the breeder refused, but that's another story.

:gleam: It is great to see the changes in breeders, it is gradual but you can see it and its all for the good of the Koolie and all breeds, I pray that the days of my rescue service receiving phone calls from breeders claiming they can't get rid of their unwanted pups or litters even threatening to shoot them if I didn't rescue them are just sad bad memory's. :crying:
We will continue to be vigilant in our care and protection of the Koolie and as DNA becomes more and more readily available, I will be able to, through a simple swab discover if a rescue is related to any on the register, our protection is growing, hopefully the bad guys days are numbered, I am ever the optimist. cool.gif
