Has anyone had experience of putting a bitch on the pill? Is it to late when she has already started bleeding? If so any suggestions on how to disguise the scent or similar.
We have some nice people coming to pick up a young bitch that we were "given" because she wouldn't work (at 9 months) or else she would be shot. Anyway they are picking her up tomorrow and heading for Sydney then Brisbane and joy we find while giving her a flea treatment she is on heat. It would be good to give them some ideas if it is too late for the pill.
Thanks!

Can't give you any advice about the pill but would suggest they keep her on leash at all times during their trip and maybe invest in some of those dog nappies. Just because if she's like some bitches I've seen on heat - little hussies backing up to fences - she may well be a bit flighty trying to find a mate and nappies might give a bit more protection if a male gets near!

Thanks...found out you have to be ready, pills on hand from the first day. Then it takes 4 days before you can rely on it.
Fortunately these people fell in love with her and were prepared to do whatever it takes, leash only walks, stopping outside of towns for excercise and careful scrutiny of any dog that may be in cooee.
Had a phone message from them to say all was going well and they were delighted with her.

Glad she's found a good home! I'll try and tuck that info away in the brain if I ever need it!!!

Just in case anyone has a future problem, Pixie was coming in season before the workshop and she does not take to being separated from her family well. She received an injection on day one of her heat cycle and was off season by day 5.

They boys were testing her waiting for the right time and nothing happened and so it definately works.
