you all heard my good news a couple of mths back when i told you that ruby had finally found her forever home with young Luke and they just adored each other so to speak well i got a call this morning telling me that Ruby passed away early hours of this morning from brown snake bite, how very sad and heart breaking i was so happy that those 2 young miss fits had bonded so well i could see Ruby working hard for Luke and ageing gracefully in his care but it was just not to be but at lest she found a few mths of loving happiness before she passed away at the ripe old age of 16mths she never got to be a mum or got to show luke what she could really do with the cattle
R.I.P Ruby Cool i can see you waiting at the rainbow bridge many years to come for Luke to join you and cross that bridge together

...Ruby Cool...She had a awesome few weeks here at Glenview/Mt View. She was spoilt with swims in the dam every day and lots of rides on the motorbike...She was a lovely girl...RIP little lady.

Oh how incredibly sad. How is Luke handling it, give him hugs from me. At least she was enjoying her life to the full, poor little miss.

Poor Luke, he must be devastated. I cant imagine how he is feeling.

It is always sad to lose your best friend.

That is really sad news. They were 2 lost souls together and he must be shattered. Hopefully there will be another dog out there that will help ease the pain for such a sad situation.

I hate snakes. I killed a black snake under the garbage bin the other day and Bug was no more than 30 cm away from it on the other side of a wire fence. Dreadful creatures.

Such a short life for poor Ruby. I'm sure that Luke will long remember Ruby Cool, for the beautiful relationship that these two had, is something that is not easily forgotten in your heart.

What a sad end for what was going to be a happy ending story.
I hope Luke can find confort in the fact that Ruby loved him so much she would do whatever was asked of her.
I am sure in 50 years time Luke will remember "that great dog" that was his first great working partner

We've all been there and wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Tell luke to take heart, Ruby will send another his way and he will know she is from Ruby, not to take her place, but to make him happy while he waits till they meet again.

Haven't been on for a few days, so I only just read it. Well that's so sad for all concerned. Poor Luke, I know he took to Ruby.

My heart goes out to Luke.

I don't know what I'd do if I lost Mac. I know this sounds funny and probably a little mean, but, I seemed to have bonded better and more with Mac than I did with our previous dog, Lucky.
