We found it just too late, he had shown no signs previously but went downhill really quickly.

A little battler showing no signs... the poor baby.
Something so small can do such harm... its a shame. I hate tick season.

Such a little cutey. Ticks can be so difficult to find and they do deteriorate so quickly with sometimes little indication beforehand. Poor Pirate, RIP.

Because it is so wet up here we have ticks all year round and there is never a time that we can relax (another reason that I have short coated dogs) Rocco has spent time as well at the vets this year as well.
Pirate was an extremely resiliant dog, even though he was only 12 weeks old he was like an adult in so many ways. He never complained or whinged. He travelled with us down to Royalla's place and loved it!! he had a full and happy, even if it was short, life.

Poor little tyke. He did have an adventurous 12 weeks, he met lots of dogs and travelled. Very sad when you have to say goodbye to them so early. Hugs to you Jackie.
