Hello Jessica,

Welcome to the forum. I live in QLD as well. You will have to put up some photos of your dog once you work out how to post them. Everyone on here is very friendly so don't be afraid to ask questions.

Hi Jessica! Welcome to the forum... you are going to love it on here. Looking forward to seeing your photos and posts.
Sorry to hear about your dog... it is always sad when we lose them.

welcome2.gif Jessica. I live in central queensland in a small town called Calliope near Gladstone. Any time that you have questions I am sure their will be a multitude of answers. We are all very passionate about our Koolies. What are the names of your cattle dog and cattle dog/border collie? We love hearing about other dogs too. I have a kelpie x called Izzy and my koolie is called Ceejay.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. It is always harder when they are taken tragically. How is your daughter handling it?

im in childers.
thank you every one for your kind welcome. where would be the best place to put up pics of my dogs? lol and ponies?
my daughter was very upset when it happened and cried her self to sleep that night, she seems fine now. her and dingo ( the koolie) were very close. did every thing together, he slept on her bed. she feed him, she could tell him to sit , stay, high five, roll over, speak and he would follow her every where while she was riding her pony... he was only just 2 yrs old and a very smart dog.

That is so sad Jess... children and dogs seem to have that special connection. 2yrs is very young too.

There is a section called Websites and Photos where you can post heaps of pics... would love to see some!

If you need any help posting pics, let us know.

Hi Jess and Welcome. I am new to the Koolie world myself and I am loving discovering so much about them as every day you learn something new. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Dingo. I went through this myself with my 2 boys ( 4 & 5) in May when one of our dogs passed away very unexpected. I am amazed at how much better they cope that we do ( I still shed a tear or 2) and they tell me that "Christmas is a wonderful time of the year as Molly is having a huge party in Heaven". Being a little "creative" I had to come up with something quickly that would help the boys deal with her loss and while we were burying her the most beautiful ray of sunlight shone through the clouds onto her body and the boys and a small drift of wind. It was so beautiful (if you could call it that) that I wrote this for them.

Molly's Poem

To Jack and Charlie

I am not far from you.
I miss you both so much.
It was my time to go back home to God,
I chose the morning hush.

I am not far from you.
Close your eyes, you'll see.
The gentle wind blowing on your face,
are kisses from heaven from me.

I am not far from you.
Close your eyes, you'll see.
The warmth of the sunshine on your face
are big hugs from heaven from me.

I am not far from you.
Open your eyes, you'll see.
I chose the biggest fluffiest cloud in the sky,
in dog heaven where I'll be.

Love Mol

I can tell you it must have worked as the other day I asked my son in the back seat if he wanted the window up. Out of the blue he told me "no thanks" as he was having lots of kisses from Molly and when I looked back in the mirror he had his eyes closed, the sun and wind on his face and the most content smile I have ever seen on a child.

Death and Children are a hard combination and I hope that this might help her a little as well

I use photobucket Jess and that seems to work the best with the link codes etc... i just suck at re-sizing them to make them small tongue.gif

Love the poet Nat... very beaufitul choice of words. They would have loved it! Makes it a lot easier for them.

Okay I am a sook, the poem bought tears to my eyes and what did it for me was your boy saying that he is getting kisses from Mol.

Dogs seem to cement themselves in your heart whether they are here or not. I am glad I have a big heart because I have had a few special dogs.

Jessica, Childers is a lovely town. I always stop at the cafe on the highway on my way through and stock up on peanuts at the van.

Welcome to the forum, hope you feel comfortable enough to get right into the discusssions and enjoy yourself.
Sorry you lost your friend, but the right one will come along at the right time.

You can just attach photos at the bottom of the posting window, which means that people on slow connections and dialup don't have to wait for photos to load everytime they visit a thread. It is certainly appreciated if photos are reduced in size.
