lol.. if i look at the pic of coda u can see he has staples in above his eye.. he got kicked by a horse and it split just above his eye... blood every where as u get with head wounds.. i race him into the vet and it was the smallest cut lol...
coda is a very happy dog all the time. he loves doing jumping. the kids set up jumps and tunnels .... he would do it all day
ned we think he may be crossed with some sort of pig dog maybe? he is really dopey and lazy... not like a cattle dog at all.. and he is hugE!! knocks kids over all the time just with his tail!

Did Coda think much of his cut or was he still full of life? My BC x Kelpie Tash will still keep plodding around even after she has hurt or cut herself.
Would Ned be like a ridgeback, or mastiff?

nope he didnt care at all... kept running around the paddock with blood streaming out every where...
yeah i have been thinking mastiff for Ned... he looks super scary when he barks at strangers.. but is great with kids ( when he is not knocking them over lol!)

Coda has the same smile as my kelpie x cattle dog Izzy. Ned is a beautiful looking boy, do you have a photo with him facing the camera at all. I know demanding of me. Dingo looked like a sweetie.
Face wounds do bleed a lot, especially the ear.

welcome Jessica they are a nice bunch of dogs i would say that Ned has Bull Arab in him, he has the same shape of head as one and they are lazy dogs if their not chasing pigs and they are great with kids, i have a friend that breeds them and they are a lovely nature'd dog... Dingo was a stunning dog!!!!

I couldn't see the first photo of Ned for some reason computer won't put it up, but as soon as I saw him with Dingo thought Bull Arab type. We get quite a few coming through rescue in our area, usually lovely natured dogs. Our types vary from mastiff cross pointer to dane cross pointer or greyhound mix.

thanks every one for your lovely comments! i didnt think of bull arab for ned.. interesting!
he seems very lonely atm... can a dog mourn?

they certainly can, and if he and Dingo were close he will feel lost for while!!!!!

I believe that dogs can mourn the loss of their friends and family. They can also pick up on our emotions too so if we're feeling a bit blue they can react on that emotion too.

Yes dogs do grieve and not for just us or dogs, but for other creatures as well. I had a dog grieve for our pet bird once, they had a strange relationship. Don't pamper him too much otherwise it may stretch out the grieving process. How are you coping?

ooh ok.. hmm i have been pampering him abit. he just seems so sad. but if its making it worse ill stop. the kids are ok about it now, kids at this age bounce back from any thing! i still miss dingo like crazy, i still go to feed him with the others some times.... :(
he was always under my feet while feeding the horses... its very quiet with out him and ned roughing each other up.

Weeell now you might soon be able to DNA him to see if has Bull Arab ancestry. Have recently been speaking to the registrar of the Bull Arab club up in Queensland and they are following our footsteps to a degree. They are trying to collect enough Bull Arab samples to have the breed signiature specified but are finding it difficult to convince their long term breeders that it is a good thing for the breed and to contribute their samples. But they are hopefull to soon have enough. They we very jealous when I said it was our long term breeders who were first to put their hands up to be included. I was pleased to hear they are very firm on temperament testing and all dogs have to be DNA'd before going into their open register.

Dingo was a very prtty colour fawn tri very pretty, i have a few dilutes pop up in litters but so far they have been blues like Haze and Jacey both those girls where solid blue tri's. anyway a very nice looking bunch of dogs you have, and they all look very happy and healthy.

Ned has the same colouring as my Bull arab / wolfhound cross blue, i think it comes from the pointer in the arab.
You have some lovely pets there

Dingo sure was a pretty dog but your other 2 are just as handsome in their own ways
