so i know how all this works with our ponies but if you have a dog at stud ( please tell me if im using the wrong words) how do u go about taking the bitch to him? do u put them together and leave them be? or is there alot more to it?

The short answer is....it depends.
Sorry but there a few things to consider, probably one of the first things that dictates what you do is, are the dogs familiar with each other? If you want to mate 2 of your own dogs and they alread know each other you can leave them together and they work out the best time etc. If you are wanting to mate dogs that don't know each other you would need to be sure the bitch is ready to accept a dog before introducing them and then keeping a close watch until you are sure the get on well, then if you can leave them to it - if possible for a couple of days even.
