that's the kind of puppy owner I like! the ones that keep you up to date :-)
She is growing into a real beauty isn't she. The German Tiger looks very similar to the longer coat Koolies doesn't she.

...She is the same colour as Boo ??
JackieH
Dec 22 2009, 09:33 AM
Yes they are both dilute reds, they are related of sorts. Boo's father TJ Cooinda is a full brother to our TJ Speckie (Chevy) who is Pixie's mother. Does that make sense?

I would love to take mine to the snow to see them play in it for the first time but all our mountains don't really allow dogs without permits.
That's no fun.. Lol!

What a beautiful colour Juna is.
It's wonderful to see puppy owners keeping their breeders up to date with their pups.
Sometimes I see the lady we got Mac off up the street, and I always let her know how he is going. I'll have to send them some recent pics soon. They really appreciated the last lot I sent. They had trouble with one of the people that they sold one of Mac's litter mates to. The little puppy supposedly bit (WHAT PUPPY DOESN'T BITE) their cat, so the mongrels shot it. Then had the hide to come back and expect to get another puppy.

omg :O what a short sad life...well i bet that puppy is happier in heaven with all the other koolies to play with, than living with those horrible pple :( poor thing

That is terrible, some people just expect so much from a puppy but give it no chance to learn. The pleasure of having a puppy is teaching it to be the type of dog you want it to be and for it to develop fitting in with your family and lifestyle but it all takes time....very annoying!!!
On the other hand we have kept so close contact with people who bought a koolie of us 14 years ago...that Currawong now lives next door in our farmhouse!!! With their second and third Silhouette Koolie.

That is so sad... they didn't deserve that puppy or any other puppy. Stupid people! Some people just dont deserve animals.
A girl at my obedience class has a 12 week Kelpie x female from the pound. Her owner left her in a park in St Kilda coz she was chasing birds and wouldn't come back. He beat her, left her there and drove home.

It's sad that some people seem to think that their puppy/dog should know how to behave in a home with humans without any training. One of the biggest reasons for dogs given up to pounds/RSPCA is behaviour. It's even sadder that a lot of people expect dogs that come from a rescue group to come fully trained and return them within a week because they wee'd inside or barked or some such behaviour. Sorry venting a little.

its shocking, i saw a puppy only 13 weeks old being taken to the dog park and the man said sit...obviously the puppy had no idea what he wanted but he smacked it on the head and yanked its collar till it sat :(
as annoying and as crazy as raz sent me when he was younger the patience and training has definately worked, he is an invaluable member of our family and he just belongs here :) i wouldnt change him for the world
as for the poor kelpie pup that got beaten cause she wouldnt come back...well thats just bad ownership...u have a puppy and u let it off leash you have to expect it is going to either hang with you or run away...those are the only 2 scenarios there really are.. something our trainers say is you should never set you're dog up to fail, so u go to the park with a puppy, untrained, you keep it on the leash so they cant run away or get hurt or lost, its still a risk taking a trained dog and letting them off leash, you have to assess the situation every time :( haha i dont mean to commandeer the thread, but i hate pple and their impatience and lack of understanding when it comes to training puppies. even i admit i would get frustrated when training raz...but i take myself out of the situation, leave the room whatever, so i wouldnt take it out on raz :( he just didnt get it...of course now he is older he doesnt annoy me the same :) except the other day he ran across the road when i let him out of the car...but that was me setting him up to fail by not clipping his leash on :/ so i was very upset with myself.

It sadened and madened me to no end too. I can only imagine that maybe they had never had a dog before. Any one who has had anything to do with puppies knows that they will bite and continue to do so until you teach them not to.
Well behaved dogs don't just happen. It's patience, time and TLC that make them that way.

Couldn't agree more Mac's Mum... patience, time and TLC is exactly what all new puppies need no matter whether they are from the pound or the breeder.
I look at my two and wonder how anyone could hurt a dog... I am sure mine get sick of being hugged so much and i probably hug them too hard but in the end, i love them to death and i want them to know that.

Unfortunately there is a lot of people out there, that believe that a dog can arrive fully trained and no effort or time needs to be put into the dogs. I am sure a lot of you get comments about how well behaved and obedient your dogs are, and where do I get a breed like that. My usual response is I have put in two solid years of training to get my dogs like that, daily training and exercise. Dogs don't make mistakes we do. Our society is a very disposable society and if something doesn't work throw it, this unfortunately happens with living creatures as well. It frustrates me! We have two small foxies that have moved in with new neighbours across the world, they wander everywhere, I have informed the woman, but alas nothing has been done. They are going to be squished doggies one of these days. The owners just don't care enough, and enough is the word, just a little bit more effort and they would be good dogs. Laziness, ineptitude and ignorance. Sorry getting off my soapbox now.
