We had a competition at one of my home clubs this weekend, Dog agility wellington group.
Saturday was REALLY HOT, a bit of wind, but REALLY HOT. In spite of the heat, Dice did run pretty well, he managed to complete a really hard jumpers course, the judge really set it too hard for the level it was at. So pretty pleased with him for that. He did drop a rail, which he got told off for, and he didn't drop another all weekend after that!

He did a really nice run in starters, and placed 2nd, just pipped for the win. :-)that's fine with me, I'd rather he was in starters a while longer.

mostly now if he makes a mistake it's a little one.

Today was a complete contrast in the weather. A howling southerly all day, and light rain sometimes.

Dice did some really good work and manged another 2nd place, this time in jumpers C, and also placed fourth in Novice. He did a super run in starters, just a minor timing error on my part got him disqualified in that one. Phtttt.

Today was also his debut run with his new "young kennel club" handler :-)
He really went well for her. He did a wait and lead out for her, listened well, made no attempt to leave the ring to me - and I was just outside the ring watching. :-) I'm so proud of him and her as well :-)

There was a TV crew there filming, and she was interviewed afterwards along with two other kids, which was great.
I took some pics which I'll post later.

His three placings earned him runner up to Top Dog for his grade (starter/novice) I have never got that before!

That's awesome Penny...sounds like Dice has really come a long way and good to hear he is doing well with his new handler
Ceejay
Congratulations. He is improving a lot, but I think that has to do with the handler too. It is good that he went well with his little handler, I bet she was chuffed to be on TV.

Wow, he's doing so well!! So good that he worked well for his new handler and didn't seek you out. If you can find an online link to the TV interview you'll have to post it here!!

Dice is doing some superb work, and I'm so proud of him, and having a huge amount of fun playing with him. :-)

I was so busy watching Dice run with Nicole, I didn't think to take any pictures until after! he went nearly as well for her as me, it was only a timing error on her part that kept them from a clear round. She stopped and watched him go through the collapseable tunnel instead of running on to the next jump. :-) Ya don't have time to do that with Dice, Nicole!

Bloody good effort for a first try. :-)

Anyway, here's a couple of pictures I took after of Nicole and Dice and her aussie shepherd Diva.
