Penny, the photos are cool!
Flek had a play date later for an hour when I got back from work and then needed an early night. She was exhausted - a big day for a little puppy!

Cripeys!! she has grown!! You must really have her in a good paddock .. haha. Bender will have to go on steroids to catch up!! he was always the weed of the family. He got is first close look at the sheep on the weekend, he sees them everyday when they go out to mow the creek paddock but this was his first time playing with them. Frazz kept them moving for him and once he got the idea we took Fraz out and Bender then moved them around on his own!! It looks to cute this "little" puppy pushing the sheep around.

I knew it - he's a big flirt!!! Did he bring that big stick to Flek? He's a charmer that Dice. I see romance in the future for these two!!!!ROFL She's a very pretty girl too!

Jackie,
I'm envious! Bender is lucky to have a grown up dog to show him the ropes. Flek has had a pretty good woof at the weaners (aprox 4-5 mth old beefie steers) and chased the sheep during her first week. She has had a woof from the safety of the other side of the fence with one of Arapawa ewes (1/2 wild chocolate merino crosses) doing the double foot stomp at her. Her ears are painted on at the moment so I'm reluctant to let her loose with the sheep until we have a bit more control (maybe a long lead will do the trick).
Good pasture indeed - she is quite solid. She stood on the bathroom scales the other day all on her own and they registered 7kg!
Bluedog - unfortunately as cute as he is Dice (and he is beautiful) is not the perfect mate for Flek - alas. I'm just going to have to find another genuine Koolie here in NZ or import some frozen straws! Or another dog.......

I'd definitely have to quit work then. My attention span has gone completely as it is - I'm ready to leave work and be at home before I've even got down the driveway! If I got another Koolie I'd be hopeless - wouldn't even get out of the garage ......

I have promised my self that I will be more diligent with my sheep work with the young dogs!! Frazz is my best worker but we have such a strong bond, it is like he reads my mind with what I want him to do and I am trying to raise Bender like that too.
Smith needs a bit of work as well, plus the young dogs and we only have 17 sheep as I gave one away last weekend to a friend that needed a ram.
We try to only do a few dogs at a training session so as not to get the sheep too quiet, they are damaras and are very wild so move off the dogs really well. It makes it easy for the pups to get them to move off their bark and gives them a sense of achievement until they graduate on to the stubborn lazy boar goats then they have to work a lot harder!!
Even Frazz and Smith have trouble with them.

Bender playing with the sheep would be great photos... cute ones :-)
I know what you mean Muddle Earth. It is so much fun to spend time with them playing that you dont really want to do much else.
I lose track of time way too quickly and before i know it, i am running late and scrambling out the door

Poor little Dicey, no girlfriend yet... actually, he nearly got himself de-knackered this weekend. I threatened to do the dirty to him, because he wouldn't keep his bloody nose off the ground long enough to think. He forgot how to hit his weave entries completely! :-/
I have strong suspicions that someone had a bitch that should NOT have been on the grounds there. I've never had him behave like that before.
He did redeem himself by getting two third placings, one in Starters and one in Novice. The novice run was a super one, and he had an awesome jumpers C run, then I ballsed it up :-( The starters third would have been a win if he hadn't had two tries at getting the weave entry because his little boy brain was fried. :-)
He did some fantastic work over the weekend.
He had a great time playing with Flek, yes he brought the stick to play with :-)He thought she was nice, but a bit small. ;-)
She thought he was nice but a bit big!
Once she got over her nervousness at being at the agility with so many other strange dogs, she had a lot to say for herself. Told everyone all about it!

Hi Treen
I think it would be a quicker trip than that, it is freeway all the way now, I think the Pres allows about 2 hrs from Nth Dandenong. Just bring yourself, your dog and maybe a chair. We have a bbq for $4 each, coffee & tea included.
For the rest of you, you are alway welcome but consider perhaps finding a venue that is dog friendly and fairly accessable and organise a get together. We would be happy to advertise in the newsletter etc and let local members know. We do have a meeting but the best part is people getting together and the dogs having a play together like Penny & MuddleEarth did. There is no doubt they all benefit from mixing with their own kind and they appreciate it, sleep all the way home and somehow know when you are getting in the car for the next meeting.
There is going to be a workshop coming up in Northern NSW which is just being organised, members will be contacted direct. It would be something good to aim for.

Thanks Sil. This weekend is out though :-(
Got the call for a farewell lunch so unfortunately i have to go. I dont think OH would be happy if i said Boz hanging with other Koolies is more important than his mates farewell

....ssshhh, dont tell him i said that

Adorable pics, Penny. It'd be funny to see Mac and another Koolie running around like loonies.
He does play with the in-laws border collie. Actually, he wears him out, lol. At least another Koolie would match his energy levels.
