What a wonderful time they're all having together. They're a good looking bunch of dogs!!! Larrah is very striking in her looks and Pixie has such long legs (she reminds me of Paxy)! Harley just looks such a sweetheart!

I am so jealous of your "pond". Looks fantastic with running water. Our dam was empty until the big wet a few weeks ago. Now the beautiful water is so stagnant that you would not go near it let alone let the dogs in it. Your dogs are beautiful and so happy. Thanks for putting the photos up.
Ceejay
You have such a beautiful bunch of dogs. It looks lovely and cool and clear there. They looked like they had a blast. Ceejay is a very good seeker of water, didn't realise it but due to all the rain we have a small running creek down behind us, I went exploring and heard a splash, Ceejay found it.

Great photos Jackie. They look like they had a great time.

I am still in love with Kenzie.... such a beautiful colour and gorgeous face! :-)

It is the river that created Tinaroo Dam, I used to take them to the dam itself but it is too crowded for the dogs to have fun so we go down the channel road following the river from the dam wall. It depends on how much water they are releasing for environmental reasons how fast it flows. With all the rain we have had I thought the level of the dam would be pretty high but not so but it had rained heavily when we got there and the rocks were very slippery so I didn't venture far on those rocks. We usually walk for a couple of hours with the dogs but they just got a play and swim for an hour then a bush walk before heading home.

...Harley always looks like she is having a good chuckle at something.

sure looks like they had a blast, i swear koolies have ducks feet lol the way they all love water and swimming. Ceejay raz is the same he will find water anywhere, so i keep him on leash as he has been known to jump into big drainaige things that he almost cant get back out of just to have a paddle in them :/ very dangerous, so i try to check it out first
royalla
stunning pic's jackie, i love the one's of Malee and pixie

I so wish I could get together a whole gang of Koolies like that for a swim :-)Dice would just stand around in the shallows... I have still only had him swim voluntarily once. I was in the sea myself to get Ashley to swim for therapy, on a lead, and he came in with us.
JackieH
The ones that are reluctant swimmers we wait until summer and then coax them in or take them out with us then let them gently swim back. There is only one that doesn't swim, Kelsey, and she will soon.

Funny how they just take to water. Boz took a while to realise it wasn't going to swallow him up and now when we go to the river or to a dam he is straight in and usually one of us will have to swim out to bring him back in laugh.gif

What a beautiful kaliedoscope of Koolie Colours!

They all look like they have so much fun together.

I don't know what Mac is like with the water. When we went to the dam he apparently made no attempt to go in. Just made the rounds between, hubby and son while they were fishing. But . . . I'm sure if they were to get in the water he'd get in too. laugh.gif
Ceejay
My friend and I had to actually teach Ceejay the water was fine. We went out to the Boyne river with her in my arms and slowly expanded the gap between us. NOW you can't get her out of the water, she ducks her head under to find any sticks or stones underneath if she can get them. She bought out a whole heap of reedy yucky stuff the other day. It stank!! She loved it!!

"What a beautiful kaliedoscope of Koolie Colours!" That has such a ring to it, maybe you should use it on your website Jackie.
dandybrush
yes raz sticks his head under the water too, haha i sometimes worry he'll get lost under there haha, i didnt have to teach him anything he took to it like a duck to water :)

Actually, in all honesty I rather like that Dice doesn't feel obliged to throw himself into any water that he comes across :-)Having had Welshies for 14 years, you can't go for a walk with them and expect to come home with either dry or clean dogs, never mind both!
I can take Dice for a walk on the farm, and he doesn't throw himself into the drainage ditches, or the bog, or the puddles... he only gets dirty if it's dewy or rainy, and the dirt sticks to him from the paths. - or if he accidentally trips over in a cowpat. That doesn't happen very often thank goodness.
The Welshies on the other hand, will plough through cowpats with blithe oblivion and actively seek out disgusting ditches, because there may be ducks in them!

I do love them, but it's nice to not have to wash at least ONE dog after a walk :-)

Great photos Jackie! And beautiful Koolies. I like seeing photos of Harley & Smith and wondering who Flek will take after. She has really stretched out lately and is looking quite leggy - she has passed the height of the coffee table now and can easily rest her head on it - out of bounds zone for food and remote controls!

Fleks had an adventure in her water bowl but no swimming yet. We have found the perfect spot but she needs to be a bit bigger. She has been having a wonderful time with a swiss ball in the garden tonight - it just popped. So she is having a great time with what is left!

Probably time for some more photos.....
Penny Nalder
Oh yes, definately!

I will have to take some photos of Bender!! We didn't take him on the weekend as I thought the water level would be much higher as we have had lots of rain. He went on his first adult walk with the crew this morning and he had two creek crossings to contend with lots of long grass and speeding koolies to avoid and he passed with flying colours. The water was level with the top of his back so I made sure that it wasn't too fast for him and washed him downstream but he was fine! and really enjoyed himself. Bend will take after Smith! for sure.
treen
For sure! Would love to see photos of Bender with the rest of the pack :-)

How wonderful is that to see so many koolies together having fun something you would not see very often. Great photos
