Not that there is much we can do about it but there are 4 Koolie Puppies for sale in a pet shop in Canberra called Bates Pet shop. Here is what my friend emailed me.
"There were 4 German Koolies for sale!!!!!!!!!! They were $395 each.
One was pure black, one was a mid to dark steel grey with lots of black markings on it, one was a lighter grey with dark grey and black markings and one was white with shades of grey, and black on it."
Being new to all of this is it common to see them in Pet shops? As far as the price goes they were also charging this for the following.
"BCs $995, and Boodles (BC x Poodle) were $1195 each"
I love how a Mutt can be $1200 and people believe its a breed. Oh well, just had to vent.

Koolie Rescue recently rehomed a koolie/kelpie x someone had paid $750 for from a Sydney pet shop. I cannot help but think that a boodle would be a nightmare to live with, with the worst of both breeds.

Price difference indicates to me they gave the breeder of the koolies $50 more than likely. It is always disapointing to see koolies in a pet shop, you know there is every chance they are bought because they are cute and then by 6 or 12 months going through rescue because - yes they have a brain!

have to say i got raz from a petshop for $150 :) best purchase i ever made, i had never heard of the koolie and we went away and researched and liked what we read so we went back and got him :) and he is one of the family now best little buddy. but yes with a brain i had never anticipated. thankfully i went to the best puppy school and they helped tremendously :)

there's one shop in melbourne that seems to come across koolie pups a fair bit. i saw it a while ago and cant remember their name.
but they listed the breed as low maintenance and not much exercise required....idiots!
