This afternoon I saw what I believe to be a Koolie X pup at the Pets Paridise store at Westpoint Shopping Centre in Blacktown - oppersite JB HiFi on Level 2. He is advertised there as a Border Collie X, but I see a lot of Koolie in him. I can not work out how to post photos, so will email some to Natalie Winter and ask her to post them here if she thinks appropriate.
He is in good health and at 4 months old has just had his 3rd round of shots so is now fully vacinated. I think he is probably too big now to sell when all the pups around him are much younger and I really don't want to know what happens to pups at these stores when they don't sell...
His price has been reduced to $195 and the girl at the store said she would happily let him go for $150 if he was going to a good home. She also told me that he had a sister at their Mt Druitt store. If you can find a home for these pups you can call the store on (02)96221890 Tuesday to Saturday and talk to Jen. If you mention that you heard of the dogs through the guy that spoke to her in the store on Tuesday afternoon about Koolies she will most likely recall the conversation and be willing to help.
If anyone needs help in picking up either of these dogs, then please give me a call on 0410 631 056.
Cheers

Just too sad to see any pups in a pet store but I think especially the working breeds. Unfortunately from what I understand the outcome for most pups that outgrow their cuteness is not good. All pups and dogs deserve a good home I hope these pups find one soon.

I spoke to Jen at the pet shop again yesterday and she assures me that they keep dogs until they find an owner - to the point where they give them away. I told her to recommend training/activity and lots of bones to anyone who got this little guy. I hope she does so, otherwise they could end up with a very frustrated and distructive dog.
I left her with my number so that if they get to the give away stage she will call me and I will find a home for them if I have to, but she was confident that they will find a new owner for both dogs by the end of this weekend.

Poor little guy. But the quandry here is, if someone goes and buys him that will trigger them to purchase more to put through the same trauma creating a continuation of the problem, it will still be classed as a sale not a rescue to them. Perhaps if you call again you could suggest this is a sign that you shouldn't stock working dogs at all....

That is an excellent point and I will make that call. Thanks all for your interest and help.
