Hi all,

Just a quick intro, i am a mum and live in SE QLD, we have one Koolie, a blue merle named sonny, and another special girl on the way.

We also have A bull arab bitch, and bull arab wolfhound pup, and last but certainly not least my two kelpies.

We run 450 acres have a few cows and cater to people wanting agistment for their horses.

Am a huge Koolie fan have been ever since discovering the breed, and am really excited about things to come...

A big thankyou to Jackie and Kerrie for being so welcoming and helpful with my enquiries. beer.gif

Welcome Bekk, I hope you enjoy yourself. Certainly sounds like you have alot of room to play with 450 acres! Just right for active koolies.

Sonny is a pretty dog, he is very feminine.

Brooke was looking at pics of your dogs working last night, very impressive. Sonny has only been on the cows probably 8 or so times, and has plenty of instinct there, i was watching him help my 4yo son bring the house cows up yesterday and was thinking it would be nice to get some good pictures, will have to try that. I have tried with beau my kelpie, but he is waaay to quick for my camera and wont slow down, sonny is much more controllable. In full work beau is ok though.

Jackie, you probably would have figured when we were on the phone that i dont mind a yarn and ask plenty of questions, i will be sure to ask if there is anything i am unsure of, thanks again.

Know your going to enjoy yourself here.
If it gets a bit sleepy at time, don't stop checking us out.
We only post when there is something to talk about.
Some of us like me don't get out here much at all.
But when I get the chance I love to catch up and read what everyone's doing.
I look forward to getting to know you better and your dogs.

I live near ipswich. Sonny apparently was bred around warwick somewhere. Will take him with alice to the vets next week to have him scanned and see if he has a chip.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like bliss, wish I was on 450acres wouldn't have to deal with people. lol. Hope you enjoy it on here, has anyone warned you that Koolies are addictive.
Bekk
No unfortunately and in the span of six months i have gone from one to two lol.

We actually live on the outskirts of town on 5 acres, its a small town and we are next door to the school with a paddock seperating us, our acreage is about 3ks donw the road, but your right, is awesome being able to hide from all the people lol

there are a lot of koolies around Warwick Brescot's koolies lines came from Warwick to start with and Fitz's grandfather is still at warwick. so you don't live that far from me only about 3 hrs lol for you southerner's 3 hrs is not far to travel in Queensland i live out near Dalby on 30 acre's i down sized from a 1000 acre's up near kingaroy.
Bekk
oooh ok, im originally from pittsworth, have lived in stgeorge, tara, Mungindi 6 yrs, narrabri 2yrs, and Katherine nt on and off for 3yrs. Droved all through that area and out condamine, chinchilla etc.

Sonny is quite small compared to alice, but even though he is light he is solid. Am really hoping that i can eventually track down his breeder/ bloodlines.

Ha Ha! :-) yes, Koolies are addictive Bekk! I just got a second, when I really should have waited until Dice is at least 4, and he's just 2. I'm already planning my third, and it costs a fortune to get them over here...
royalla
well you know my area well then i have just moved to Tara. very small world after all lol
