I know and understand you anger and frustration. I am beginning to learn that people are going to say whatever they want, no matter if it is true or not. The folks that you speak of are looking for us "Australian Koolie" folks to be drawn into their junk. Don’t let them draw you in. I can say from personal experience it is pointless. They have attacked me personally out there on the web... numerous places. They said that Jack came from the pound. Not true. He was personal (by me) confiscated from a working ranch where his life was in dire straights as were many other animals (cattle, goats, cats, dogs). But these people have no problem flat out lying on the web. Not one of these people know me personally, contacted me personally or actually have seen my dogs (outside of their going to my site).

They have no problem acting as if they are the experts on this breed. Much to my dismay there is even an American in the USA that acts as if they know all there is to know about Koolies (or in this case Coolies). It is appalling that they think that they know more than people in Australia who have been around this breed for years. And that is more than the 1-2 years that this American has known about the breed. But still they spew their poison and make their statements, because we don’t get sucked into having a verbal dialog with them, often all that is out there is their verbal diarrhea. I am disgusted with how these people are unkind, spiteful and vindictive. They have done way more harm than any amount of good for the breed. But I still try to stand by the age old lesson my mother taught me…..”if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Wish their mothers had taught them better.

Since our forum is not that kind of place, even though I would love to make statements here about them I have chosen not to lower myself to their level. And it would be lowering myself to a level that I just don’t want to got too. I am better than that, you are better than that.

I am not telling you what to do, but remember one thing about these people. They want to drag you into a discussion about the KCA, our Koolies and other breeders. They want to have a stage to carry out their play on. They want to be able to make statements and spew ugly stuff about those who are involved with this club and its members. Don’t become someone they can use and abuse. Hold fast the course. Post positive things about your dogs, your friend’s dogs, the KCA and make all statements positive. Kill them with kindness (another of my mother’s favorites). Just a suggestion from someone who has walked that path before.

Hi royalla

Don't worry about these people they are probably jelous

I know that there are some breeders out there that are there purely for the money and not the good of the breed.

As stated in other sections of this forum I once bought a bitch pup from a supposed Koolie breeder that was forcebly kept in a corner of a yard by 3 Australorp chickens and have a photo to prove it.
I returned this dog to this breeder with comment and didn't accept the offer of repayment. It wasn't the money I paid for this pup that worried me but the time I needed to replace such a dog and wait till it grew up and could be trained. The time is normally at least 8 months and that didn't go down very well with me.

This breeder however still refers to this dog as being bought by myself despite several requests to correct this. She is now trying to enhance her reputation at my cost.

So you see there are all kinds of people out there.

All you need to do is be happy with what you are doing without lying to yourself and the rest will take care of itself

Sound like a plan, thanks Jack and Karolina.
Just nice to know there are nice Koolie owners here that are willing to share their thoughts not their abuse.
Thanks for sharing royalle.
Hi Mitchell don't think I had a chance to welcome you on board, enjoy yourself, we do. When I get a chance to post.

hi again i have said my bit to them and i will leave it at that.i just don't belive in backstabing not about your beautiful dogs koolies or coolies are the same breed all of them have mixed breeding some were in their backgrounds that is what has made them the best aussi dogs to own well thats what i think away. pedigree muts d.gif love them biggrin.gif well thats finished with now on to my news about spice i have been teaching her to run beside my pushbike and she has been going very well until today for some unknow reasion she decided to trot close to the front wheel and when i asked her to move away (which she has been doing for me)she droped to the ground at a trot beening submissive and yes you gested it thats were we both ended up she wet herself in fright when the bike landed on her and took off yelping and i got up with a big hole in my knee lol. it took 1 1/2 city blocks before i could get her to come back to me poor spice i think she thorght the bike was going to jump on her again or that she was in trouble spank.gif well you would think she would have worked it out by now i would never hit her or yell at her she is far to sweet for that kind of treatment. well the good news is she got over it and we made it home with out any more crashers thank god lol.
Lawson Legend
OFF TOPIC:Give her a break from it Royalla, Lawson got a scare from the hose one day when I turned it on too hard and it flung about and sprayed him. So, I only used it when he was inside for a week or so, then bought him to it to sniff and rewarded him, each time, then had him sit whilst I used it to re fresh the dogs water, talking to him, patting him and re assuring him that nothing would happen. He's almost fine when the hose is on now, few more weeks and he'll be over it ( I hope)
Amazing how little things or big accident freak out our dogs, expect the un expected is the name of the game.
