Just wanted to announce that our litter has arrived; on Thursday November 16th 2006 at 7:20 pm Jill brought into the world a beautiful, strong, very large male pup. welcome2.gif Our litter was smaller than we had hoped but we have a beautiful pup out of it and we are very pleased with him. bighug.gif woohoo.gif Jill did a wonderful job girlpower.gif and is turning out to be an awesome mother. wahooo.gif We are still searching for a name dunno.gif that we feel fits and will post that once we have decided. But for now we will at least post a couple of photos of our handsome guy. We are taking name suggestions so feel free to share any thoughts….jump.gifjump.gifjump.gif

Thanks everyone we are very excited. jump.gif He is amazingly strong and active. I don’t think I have ever seen a pup eat with such energy before, Jill is going to have her paws full when his teeth start to come in….ouch!!!!! Sorry.gif biggrin2.gif

Jill is being an awesome mum and that is a big deal to us. I knew she would be a good mother but she is way better than I knew she was going to be. woohoo.gif Jack has checked out his son and I swear I think he smiled and strutted a bit around the kitchen. ThumbUP.gif Jill had no problem with him having a sniff and a lick, but don’t let the cat drop by for a look...Jill says no way. cat.gif cat.gif thumbsdown.gif

The name is still up in the air but that has not stopped him from gaining weight daily. With no competition he has his pick and he is making good use of that. Jill is venturing out of the bed for a bit of “me time” and it makes me a bit nervous….but everyone says that is normal so I need to learn to be less protective and let nature do it’s thing. ziknow.gif ziknow.gif ziknow.gif

Any suggestions or things I may need to know for good puppy growth, training, etc….? I know starting early is key…. I am taking notes…. Waiting….. zpls.gif

Thanks everyone….

Just remember,

Leave them alone LOL, seriously though just make sure mum has LOTS of food and water and an escape route for biological break time.

Then leave them alone and let mum do her stuff.

Congrats by the way

Hooray and yippy, I'm a grandma or great nanny.
I just love the photos, we can compare how many you take with how many I took of my first litter, I don't think I take as many now, but that could be because I get Silhouette to take them.
Big big hugs to you all.
How was Thanksgiving. Any snow yet?
I hope you have moved back to your own room, now and gotten some real sleep.
Training will come, look how well you have done with Jack and Jill and you will have everyone here ready when the time comes.
Enjoy, it flows by too fast, keep a journal, so you have it to look back on.
Well done.

TJ I am finally back in my own bed. California.gif Not because Jill could not handle it, but because I am just a worry wort when it comes to my little guy..... But Jill is doing an awesome job.... Great idea.gif and I am letting her do her own thing....if she wants to be in the bed with the pup, great. ThumbUP.gif If she wants to hang with us that is fine too....Jill is getting lots to eat....puppy food and she is loving it. Jack kind of likes the little guy and hangs around the room when he can.

I will keep everyone posted.... and I am taking tons of photos...but since I am at home on holiday and on dial up I can not post much.....will once I am back on network....

No snow....darn....but we had some cold weather over the Thanksgiving holiday but now we are back up to short sleeves and shorts weather......darn.....need to put the Christmas decorations up but just too warm too, does not seem like Christmas....

Maybe this coming week....

Hi karolinakoolie

coolpics.gif newyear.gif

Give Jill a pat she deserves it,

Only 1 though that is unusual I normally get between 7 and 10.

As I have said elsewhere you should start weening the pup at about 3 to 4 weeks as the pup then gets it's teeth it should be happy to eat from a bowl and that will save Jill a lot of anguish.

Nicely coloured pup hope he proves to be a good dog for you.
