does gypsy love agility that's an under statement she thinks it's the bees knees of everything i have to settle her down before we run because if i don't she hops through the weave poles on her back legs in a zig zag patten(very cute to see) she can do it pretty fast but not as fast as four legs lol and when she gets to the top of the A-frame she does a funny little howl as if to say she is the queen of the castle she just has a ball out there. 3 1/2 kg hair ball that flys. at the last comp when she got the clear run she had 47 sec's to run the course she did it in 42 sec's that's good going for an old dog that had a bad start to life, she was used as a football and had two broken ribs and covered in tic fleas and very skinny when i got her and was very scared of men.
Click to view attachmentshe changed my mind about little dogs i through they were nasty little things that loved to bite kids but she loves kids very much she will sit on thier laps be patted and do tricks for kids as long as they like she does not care what age they are i have to remove her if it's a very young child because she rolls over tummy up for them to pat her but one years just love to grab her long hair and pull or squash her, she loves it but she has very fine bones and i don't want them broken again lol.

Thats fast for a little guy. I think a majority of the dogs just love agility and honing around. Dont know about the owners though that have to run actually Im lucky my dogs run around the course and I just do the shortcuts. If they were timing the owners I would be in trouble I wouldnt be making the course time.
He sure is cute with all that fur flying around.
By the way thanks for the names I will actually have a look into it. The thing wont let me reply but I can reply on this one cant work it out.

Hi Royalla
Gee thats a bit of a stupid rule. Are they trying to blackmail people into buying pedigree dogs only. So you basically have to have two non pedigree dogs to register. Like who has two to register at the same time. People usually fall into the sport of obedience and agility. I am glad where we are we have an associate register for the dogs with no papers. We also have the limited register which you are not allowed to breed or show with and than the main register that you can breed and show. So lots of our people just buy without the papers
I dont blame not putting Gypsy in and waiting for a pup and than doing it. So than the next coolie you wont be able to do ankc only aada
silly rule
Good luck running 3 dogs and yes your fitness level will go up hey you never know you might be able to do a marathon. Yes well I dont know what happened to me than as my fitness level isnt up and I run 2 dogs

well i am short and kind of round i was running three dogs for a little while gypsy, tobby another shi tzu mut and kearby a working border collie with papers but again the ankc does not acknowage working dogs. kearby is a lovely dog but my husband did not take a likeing to him so after putting up with my hubby wingeing about kearb's all the time i found kearby a new home (should of been the hubby to a new home lol)kearby is still doing agility in brisbane and doing very well at it. and tobby was just to lazy so he stay's home with the hubby now they make a good pair.
Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentjust a couple of pic's of kearby for you to see what a lovely boy he is. and yes they are trying to blackmail people into only owning pedagree dogs i myself do not like pedagree dogs to many health problems with them thats one of the things i like about koolies they all have mixed breeding in thier back grounds somewere not to far in thier past.

Now thats a border collie and thats how they should be bred. That is what I like in a working dog and that is probably why I fell in love with the coolie plus they look differant too everybody else. Well I like to have everything different to everyone my dog float doesnt look like any body else its just like a miniature horse float and it use to be a 2 berth but you can open up the door and it becomes a one berth and all my girls just share the one berth. I had trained a Jack Russell Terrier before they became popular and was training my kelpie before anyone was trialling a kelpie this was about 13 years ago. Most people had border collies and not fast one at that so Milo was sort of stuffed up as we had healing dogs back than but I had been successful with her and so everyone else got one. Then I got Xena she is a blue merle and she is absolutely a dog in a million Might add everybody says that about there own dog but she has been brilliant in anything that I have asked of her. She has one top awards in both obedience and agility and has been runner up in the last two years at the National [now if her owner could have run it could have been differant] Now there is quite a few people have got coolies. They dont believe me that they are differant to other dogs and they have sort of stuffed them up. Totally agree about the husband though Life would be much easier LOL but than we need them for the money LOL. The closest I have got to a pedigree dog is my border collie and my friend had bred her and I was looking for a quiet dog for my mum but for me to train as that is how I got her. She is on limited register and she is pretty good as well. Got her obedience champion ADM and JDM like Xena and is now working her way through for her Agility champion Like Xena but I have to admit its a lot of hard work with the border than Xena. Xena seems to read me and knows exactly what I am thinking where Inka just doesnt use her brain and I always have to be on top of her, directing her etc.

boy you are so lucky three great breeds kelpie, border and koolie that you have had the pleauser to work with. i had a kelpie when i was a young kid and what i can remeber of her she was a top little dog she was used on our cattle.kearby was a lot of work he was miss treated before i got him. he was shown the cattle at 3mths old and because he shied away from them the farmer did not want him so he was left on the chain no collar just chain around his neck and forgotten until i got him at seven mths old the chain was inbeding into his neck he could hardly walk and did not know what any words meant he was scared of car rides and would panick and lose his bowls the same if you shut the doors in the house found all this out the hard way lol but he has the most stunning running and jumping action i have seen in a long time he is a pleasure to watch ...can you tell that i miss him lol. i like dogs that have free movement and can strech out when they are working a friend of mine has a couple of show border collies they are good dogs at agility and obedince but they are very choppy with running and jumping looks like it's real hard work for them not pretty to watch.
spice is 10mths old and still has four left feet lol she is getting better i swear that she had five left feet when she was younger she is going to be a good dog when she grows up. i take her bike riding with me which she just loves and i can let her off lead and she will stay beside me and not stop to sniff things but i have to be very careful when i have her off lead because if she gets a scare she will run off and not stop until she runs out of puff not a safe thing in town but i am lucky i live next to some wet lands about 5ac's and one block down the road is a large park wicth is 3kms around the outside walking track. spice is also doing well at obedince training but as i said before i can't enter her in any obedince trials because she is not reg with ankc... just my luck to live in queensland the backward state lol

Yep Id say you should move state even if you have all of that lovely sun. Nothing beats about have a good day out with the dogs competing and enjoying the friendship. Since my dad died my mum comes with me to all the obedience and agility trials and watches her dog which is the border collie beats going with the husband LOL We are so lucky in SA as we have been able to trial non pedigree dogs before I started which is about 84 so we have been doing for a lot of years. We also have lots of trials I think its about 30 obedience and 50 odd agility trials and most of those are actually doubles and in between all of that we have tracking and herding has just started. Cant do that with my girls. Border collie what sheep Coolie it looked at me helppppp kelpie let me at em Ill just bite the leg and thatll get them moving. The hearding and tracking is expensive and you have to drive a long way. I dont do tracking anymore as you dont need them for the obedience champion title. It does cost an arm and leg to compete though. Obedience is about $8 an entry and usually have 4 or 5 Both border and coolie do open and utility and the kelpie veterans and the agility is about $7-8 a class and is usually between 4 or 6 classes per dog. One of the end of year title is the excellent trophy which is the amount of passes in adm and jdm on the same day Last year I got 11 with the coolie border collie only about 3. She is just started coming good and is actually the last 6 months been passing 2-3 classes out of 4. We just got in for the Pedigree Advance Team Challenge that is going to be held in March and teams from around Australia will be coming to Adelaide to compete. Knew I could get in with coolie but am very pleased the border collie got in.
All of my girls have got there obedience champion title and my coolie got her Agility champion title being the fourth from Australia and second in SA to get that title so I am rapped
I felt so sorry for your fellow people should be shot if they mistreat there dogs fancy leaving a chain on for so long that its embedded. They have sensitive soles these borders. Kelpies just dont care They just take it or leave it thats my kelpie any way still love them though
Just as well he came to you to find out what love is all about though and can enjoy life and not everybody is like that. Boy are my girls lucky where they came from though. My kelpie came from the dog pound so she was lucky that she went to a good home.
cheers

Ps still cant get over that you cant do obedience either. I reckon ankc must be worried about the mutts that they can beat the pure breds LOL

well i have turned very green with envy maryborough did have two comps a year one double and one single night(October) but we have lost the double night one to N.S.W as our club is fading away only four members left and no instructor our president will not do any fundraising or fun days to get new people in with their dogs she is more interested in her life saving club. bundaburg has only two comps a year new years eve (double) and one in june the rest of Queensland comps are in Brisbane and have no camping at most of them. the next closest AADA club is caboolture that's about 2 1/2 hours away they have very good agility trainers there and have the best beginner's course i am thinking of doing that course with spice but i think it is about a 12 week course. i just have to work out how as i work 7 days a week and i start work at 3.30 am my son will fill in for me if he does not have a big day at work himself so that means i would miss some of them and i will probably have to camp there over night as my eye lids like to shut by 9.30 pm and there are lots of grass hoppers (roos) on the roads at that hour and i would be still driving home then not a good mix lol.i did that two years ago coming home from a brissy comp i hit the biggest roo in Queensland and not in my car i had my bosses new car as mine was playing up (i think my car new about the roo lol)that was not fun telling her that i had re-styled her car so i have not been back to a brissy comp since then.

Im glad your green with envy sorry shouldnt rub it in. Its great that we have obedience and agility on every weekend and we can choose to enter or not.
I think you might have to get rid of your President and become one yourself to get people into it or soon you wont have a club to go at all with the way its running.
Thats going to be interesting to see how you are going to do 2 1/2 hour trip to do a course [12 weeks] and working 7 days a week Interesting!!!!
Have you got room to set up courses at your places for contacts weavers and jumps cause you can get some brilliant courses to practice from eg agility nerd. He shows how to do front crosses and serpentines and threadles etc.

i only have two jumps, six weavers, a tyre jump, and a kids play tunnel not much but enough for a bit of fun at home i will have to make some more jumps soon and build a dog walk or a small A frame now that could be scary i am not very good with cutting wood it's like cutting a loaf of bread lol. i have just applied for a job at the animal refuge i am hoping that i will get it that way i can sleep in to 6.30

that would be heaven

and lots of dogs to play with well won't get that much time to play with the dogs (with play i mean training them)so wish me luck please

i think i am going to need it 37 people have applied for the job so far.

Well good luck for the animal refuge. I know its hard to get in as I have tried to get in animal things and its very hard. All the best for it. Let me know how you went I think you may need a few more things at home to practice if you cant get to the club eg contacts

I know how you all feel... more work out for me than for our Koolies when out on stock. Hey I have an idea
... we could put out a Koolie workout video and promote it as some new age health and exercise tape...I mean with all the other workout videos out there it could work. People buy tapes working with rubber bands and giant balls, soup cans and arm chairs why not Koolies and courses?...This would be one to have...It could be fun....us all running around and jumping with our dogs.

Hi Karolina
Only problem with that idea is that the coolies are very smart dog that they can run the courses on there own and that means that you dont have to run not like other breeds. I know cause that is what my coolie does Im alway a mile behind my girls and have to cut corners so I can catch up to her

koolie fit i looooove it lol well i did not get the job. bugger but i do have a question about spice again? she was coming on sesson on new years when we were camping she was only just starting then she swelled up like they do but then it all went away and she did not bleed or fuss about her self like other dogs that i have had in the pass so was it a real sesson or not ? no boys dogs got to her she was locked up at night or if we went out and was only allowed out in the yard if the little shits were with her as they would bark if another dog came a round.

sorry about the job, better one around the corner.
Spice is how old?
It could have been a silent one, no show, hate dogs who do that you have to monitor them to see when they ovulate, because they show no evidence.
Mark the date on your calender and check her in six months.
If this was her first, some do take a couple of seasons to get into the swing.
Or she could be having a phantom pregnancy, where she thinks she is pregnant.
Best advice is check in six months, if she does it again, have her checked at the time by a vet.
Or you are expecting pups soon.
