Just wondering what the consensus is on the new Windows Vista, haven't heard a lot of reports yet. Also the new Office, are there many improvements? I guess what I really want to know is Front Page better now and maybe more acceptable? I'm probably clutching at straws her LH.... feedback.gif

Seriously, my brother was over on the weekend and has bought a new PC with Vista and it will not run with dial up denied.gif and does'nt like virus scanners or Norton or McAfee. diespam.gif Telstra are NOT supporting the package as they say it has too many glitches help.gif ...this after my brother called to sort out dial up issues. He took his PC back and has requested XP and Word Suite on it after only three days of grief. needaHug.gif

Hi,

Well I have not tried it, as I do not like it...Robyn is using Office 2007 Pro on her laptop along with XP Pro

As stated before Frontpage is NOT supported by the latest Apache Webservers woof.gif If I upgrade Apache your frontpage will not work haha.gif idhitit.gif aussie.gif

Hardware vendors seem to be having a tough time getting up to speed with Windows Vista, the latest iteration of Microsoft's client OS. Drivers have yet to emerge for many products that have worked for years under XP, and those drivers that do exist are buggy or missing features.

As with all the previous operating systems, it takes microsoft at least a year to sort out the glitches in the new product. I will be hanging in with XP for at least another year myself.

We bought a new lap top for our office which had vista on it and it wasn't compatible with our other computers so we also gave up after a day. throw.gif

Localhost you are just too far from mars too help.

if your caught up on the windows tred mill that's it, it's too hard to swap.

I can't get my brain around just the updates.

Let alone totaly new inviroments.

My new lap top and computor both run Vista, and yes it's full of new ideas, the arrangements are different, they have gone into menus in a big way, so you have a larger selection, which can be confusing.

Its security is over protective and I shut off updates which does cause irregularities after a while.

I run CC, PC Tools Spy ware, and windows live one care which I can run on all three computors and lap tops, and I have not had any troubles, cross your fingers, with dial up, mail, internet, games, or outside programs.

I love XP and they should have just updated that to hold the new gadetry of Vista, but that's not how microsoft does things, unfortunatly.

For my money I'd stick with XP until they have the bugs ironed out.

As for Frontpage if you want to stick with Localhosts server then your just going have to say good bye.

I'm sticking with it until I find a good compromise, that I can run and Localhost approves of.
Dreamweaver and Coffee cup are way out of my league.
